AZCentral is reporting that the Phoenix Suns finally have head coach after a long and detailed interview process.
Former lead assistant in Detroit, Terry Porter joins the Suns squad and brings two seasons of head coaching experience.
Steve Kerr made the decision Saturday and had this to say about Porter:
“He’s a great leader,” said Kerr, who was [...]

Who is This Team?
February 23, 2008
In the short time since acquiring Shaq this team is almost unrecognizable. If not for the continued success at fast break points I wouldn’t know who they are. It’s almost hard to believe that one such player can have an impact not only on the court but on the psyche of this team. It’s [...]
Grading Coach D’Antoni
December 3, 2007
Guest Blogger: Old Dirt McGirt
When he first took the Suns job, Mike D’Antoni was heralded as an offensive genius who was destined to save the NBA from plodding defensive half court basketball and finally lead the Suns to their first NBA title. However, as the seasons progressed, it seems as if we find different and [...]
Lowest scoring team in the NBA almost beats Phoenix
November 10, 2007
It wasn’t until Steve Nash went on a mini scoring rampage that the Phoenix Suns actually took the lead for good against the Miami Heat.
Nash scored 11 straight points, including two threes and a barrage of drives and jumpers to go up 98-93 with only five minutes left in the game. Up until then, they [...]
David Stern still a fool
November 9, 2007
Props to the Phoenix media. I mean, seriously…props to you.
David Stern came to town to announce that Phoenix won the 2009 NBA All-Star game and instead of treating him nice and staying on topic, the local personalities took no prisoners and grilled Stern in their first chance to see him since the suspensions of Amare [...]
The Phoenix Suns start to roll
November 6, 2007
Whatever happened at halftime of the games in which Phoenix beat the Cleveland Cavaliers is still going strong.
The Suns blew out the Charlotte Bobcats Tuesday night 115-83, giving them their second straight victory and improves their record to 3-1.
I also want to thank the wonderful Suns organization for stepping up to make their entire season [...]
Amare Stoudemire out against Cleveland
November 4, 2007
Fox Sports Net Arizona just reported that Amare Stoudemire wont play tonight due to a sore knee, the same one that he had the arthroscopic surgery on in October.
This cannot be a good thing and of course the idea of another microfracture surgery being needed is running through all our heads.
Not a great weekend for [...]
The Suns get lambasted by the Lakers

lam·baste (lm-bst)
tr.v. lam·bast·ed, lam·bast·ing, lam·bastes Informal
1. To give a thrashing to; beat. See Synonyms at beat.
Yup, that sums it up. I hope I never have to witness that again. A 119-98 thumping.
How do you possibly let things get so out of control that you are down 30+ to the L.A. Lakers in your season [...]
Phoenix Suns win opener on the road
November 1, 2007
Yes, the Phoenix Suns won and that’s great.
But if I have to go all season banging my head against the wall watching us get owned on the defensive glass, I’ll go crazy.
Regardless, it was a good win for the Suns, who started off completely out of sorts, turning the ball over, looking rusty, awkward and [...]
Purple back in the house
November 1, 2007
It’s time. Again.
The Phoenix Suns hit the floor tonight against the Seattle Supersonics and kick off another run at the NBA title.
There are so many questions this year. Can Grant Hill stay healthy? Can Amare Stoudemire stay healthy? Can everyone stay healthy? The team has been great at avoiding big time injuries lately, so I [...]
