Week 18 of the Arizona Cardinals off season thread. 05/06/24-05/12/24

This guy probably works harder every day than Kyler does any day of football season.

    Draft Thoughts

I like the Detroit comparison. If it comes to pass, we can expect 8-9 wins. I’ll take that for this year. But maybe we’ll be more like Houston, who was expected to be the No. 2 picker in this draft. I think our draft this year would compare favorable to their draft last year. If we follow that...

    UNCENSORED 2024 Draft Thread

Overall, I like this draft. No sleepers. No one-year collegiate wonders. All picks came from large schools with good coaches. All but one pick are from major conference schools that played healthy schedules. Cardinals might be the next Team to find a playoff spot.

    2024 2nd round pick #35 is traded for #43 plus #79

i’m with you here. I think DeJean or Kool-Aid could have been a Day1 starter, so I’m not excited about this pick. But I’ll have to admit that my knowledge of player development is not my most prized talent. Monti and his staff are likely better at this stuff than I am. Hope Melton is equally as...

2024 NFL Draft Thread - Round 2 (no spoilers)

I thought he’d drop into 3rd round. Good for him.

    Cardinals pick at #35

Not. I’d go with either DeJean or Kool-Aide. Cards must get a corner and two very good ones are at the top of Day 2 picks. You can get someone like T’Vondre Sweat from Texas in 3rd round, if you want to draft a defensive lineman.

2024 1st round pick #4 is Marvin Harrison Jr

This makes the most sense for this team at this time in its development.

Cards Trade Request Will Be Met

If Harrison is the best player in this draft as some are saying and he is a potential generational player, I think you have to take him at 4. Remember that most analysts were saying before the last season that the Cards would be drafting first and second this year. How’d that work out...

CBS Projects Vikes Trade Up Costs Including W/Cards

Problem with drafting for a future first rounder is that it’s a crap shoot at best. Before last year’s season, folks were speculating Cardinals would be drafting No. 1 and No. 2 in this draft. But Houston took the draft capital Cards sent their way and turned those players into a very good...

There’s still a possibility we draft Nabers

Didn’t the Cards just trade a burner for a backup QB?

Cardinals' Free Agency Day One grade

Don’t agee at all. The Cardinals have many needs on both side of the ball and they need to be addressed. One of the old regime’s plans apparently was to continue to draft linebackers until the team had a stable full of No. 1s. Other needs were not addressed. Under your scenario, we’d continue to...

Cardinals' Free Agency Day One grade

The draft should plug holes at WR (1st round), LT (1st), Edge (2nd), LG (3rd). And then go for defensive back with other 3rd round pick. Or if a better player that fills a bigger need appears, then the team has flexibility to rearrange those picks.

Cardinals' Free Agency Day One grade

I gave these signings a C. Would have preferred to sign one very good D lineman, rather than 2 rotation pieces. Maybe these guys will surprise. We’ll see. It was deflating last year seeing team after team gash the Cardinals. I liked the draft last year and with the accumulated picks the team...

Bengals at Cardinals gameday thread 10-8-23

Not much looked good today. Had to go to the wing bar to see the game. Was pumped after the Dallas game and 3 qtrs of the San Francisco game. Alas, should have stayed home because Dobbs looked like a full-in for an injured QB, the wide receivers didn’t distinguish themselves, play calling wasn’t...

    QB 1 (?) Josh Dobbs

I like Dobbs. He looks like a starting QB on an NFL team. He’s 6-3 and can see over the scrum at the line. At 210, he looks sturdy enough to take hits, but elusive enough to tuck the ball and run. And he’s certainly smart enough to know how to operate an NFL offense. For the Cardinals, he’s not...
