    Kyzir White story

After going to ASU and having family here in Vegas, then a solid 7 years of going down to Cards games and back in the same day, I'm with you. I don't want to see that drive again. Stick me in the airport lounge with free drinks prior and land me in Phoenix after a 45 minute flight where I take a...

Steve Keim Opens Up About Mental Health Issues

I've had alcohol struggles as well, which is why I understand some of the Keim problems and have some sympathy. I've never gone fully sober on a permanent level, but I do take 2-3 months off a year, and over the past couple of years have managed to only drink 2-3 days a week. There was a time...

    Zay Jones to Cardinals

Sure, I wasn't advocating we sign him - but he's been with the Chiefs for a while and they invested a fair amount of capital in him. Just another guy Zay would have to beat out in a clogged but mediocre receiving room.

    Zay Jones to Cardinals

Completely fine with this - because he likely competes with Dortch for the slot role, not the outside. It's not so much money that you can't just cut him if he sucks in camp vs. other options. It means Wilson can compete and develop. It doesn't shock me that he chose us over KC. They have a lot...

Steve Keim Opens Up About Mental Health Issues

The thing I had with Nkemdiche was that he actually seemed like a pretty intelligent dude off the field - and I mean booksmart/hobbysmart, not common sense smart. I've been guilty of the same thing when I was younger, so I thought it was something that could be turned around, especially with a...

2024 3rd round pick #66 is Trey Benson RB

In the real world he's not old, but it's alarming how consistently RBs fall off a cliff at this age in the current NFL. Now, I'll admit that's from a fantasy football perspective, not necessarily factoring in things like pass protection or goal line situations.

    Biggest Draft Disappointments

Well, yes, I don't anticipate winning much more than 8 games, Dortch or not. It really depends on the type of WR drafted. If you draft a typical outside WR, it's a problem. More of a shifty slot guy? That's different. I think I'm having a snap reaction to the constant redrafting of positions...

    Biggest Draft Disappointments

I do want to address the "top 3 receivers in the top 3 rounds" thing. Using this as my guide: https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/ranking-nfls-top-12-wr-trios-heading-into-2024-draft-texans-atop-list-after-stefon-diggs-trade/ That's a top 12 trios ranking (but before the draft so I tried to slot...

    Biggest Draft Disappointments

Man, I've been using this wrong for years. That said, I think so have a lot of my friends, people I know, and even my HS coaches. Agreed. I want to solidify my stance with everyone, and clarify that I don't think Dortch solves any long term problems at the position for the Cards, but for right...

    Biggest Draft Disappointments

I mean, he was the second RB taken in the draft, and by some accounts, the best. I'm not trying to anoint him just yet, but I'd rather have the 2nd RB off the board than the 13th or worse WR. And I don't mean to make that purely about position and the amount taken, but I like Benson more than I...

    Biggest Draft Disappointments

Well, it's work I don't really feel like doing at the moment, but I do wonder how many teams' top 3 receivers are all 1st-3rd round draft picks (especially drafted within a two year span). That's a bit of why I'm calling it a luxury. I understand we could improve on Dortch, and I wouldn't have a...

    Biggest Draft Disappointments

Exactly. This is why WR in the 3rd screams luxury pick to me. I wouldn't be screaming about it if it happened, but how many opportunities would they really get on the field? Especially when it would come at the sacrifice of blocking, secondary help, or a top RB to replace our guy that's almost 30?

    Biggest Draft Disappointments

Except... he didn't really struggle. He played pretty well for a 3rd round rookie. I guess, answer me this... would you rather give up on Wilson? Like, wish we didn't draft him? I guess I can see the argument if you really don't think the guy has what it takes or will ever develop past what we...

    Biggest Draft Disappointments

I mean, that's a problem that happens to every team and rarely do they have a great fill-in. It's not great use of draft capital unless you're a great team to be using early picks on guys who are there in the case of something going wrong, when other team needs need to be filled.

    Biggest Draft Disappointments

I'm so confused by this. Why? We just drafted a 3rd round WR last year who played well. Is it just shiny new toy syndrome? He was 8th in YPG among rookie receivers, and that's with a season of mostly Josh Dobbs, while being 14th in targets.

What needs remain in Free Agency and what can we afford?

As far as Conner goes, I'm not extending him. He'll be 30 by the 2025 season and is about to hit the wall most RBs do... I'm not against giving him a one year deal if he looks great this year, but let's not tie up long term money in a guy whose presumable replacement is on the roster, especially...

What needs remain in Free Agency and what can we afford?

I don't anticipate us bringing in a WR. Wilson is the 2 and was drafted with enough capital and showed enough promise for it to stay that way. We already signed Moore and he'll compete to be the #4. Just drafted a guy in Tejuan Palmer and signed a UDFA in Xavier Weaver to compete with Baccellia...

2024 3rd round pick #66 is Trey Benson RB

Except I haven't ever advocated taking an RB in the first. I've said RBs outside of the 3rd aren't generally going to end up as starters. I've only ever wanted to grab a guy in the 2nd/3rd.

2024 3rd round pick #66 is Trey Benson RB

Reminder - many posters will insist RBs are super easy to come by, and therefore we shouldn't invest in the position ever. Sigh.

2024 7th round pick #226 is Jaden Davis CB

I think there's a difference between "tolerated" and "outright expected." The difference is that I believe there's just a better chance we do look for some additional players possibly, and now are more in the position where we expect to win 6-9 games. Last year it was clear we expected to be the...

2024 7th round pick #226 is Jaden Davis CB

Sure. But last year was also different in that it was pretty apparent we were going to accept tanking. Looking back at where we picked and who was available after, I don't see a lot of guys we should have overwhelmingly took to replace Zaven at EDGE that are surefire fixes. Maybe we could have...
