Just wondering if everyone saw Kyler shooting threes at a Dallas game? He looked VG, and then you throw in being drafted in the 1st round (MLB), I think it's fair to say that he's the top athlete (all sports) playing NFL FB.
Brit, I appreciate the FB knowledge you bring to this board and really appreciate your posts. All I'm saying is that the team must have a reason to think that he can play inside. In college (taking your info) he was better on the outside, but in the NFL he's a better fit (team's opinion) at DT...
See where you're coming from. My only defense of Monti is that I and a lot of experts did not expect such a run on offensive players in the 1st round. Expected a lot but not that many, starting with the QB's. So he just might have been telling the truth.
It is possible that the scouts and coaches saw something about him that made them think that he could be effective, playing inside. And if not then playing him at the Edge. I'm just a fan.
What would it take to move your evaluation of our RB's to Above Average and not just Slightly? And would you say that you, like the NFL teams, have down graded the RB position?
I think the potential is there. If we go with two TE's, we can probably get away with Marvin, Michael and Greg. Not great yet, but the potential is there.
I assume that one unit affecting another unit, you're hoping that the defense doesn't put us in a hole, causing the offense to pass more and run less. Thus taking away a team's strength. Fingers crossed.
When it comes to TE's, there has been a lot of talk about playing with two TE's. It seems that Reiman will be our blocking TE. So, can we say that's another starter from this Draft?
And not only for the Cardinals but for the entire NFL. Bottom line, injuries will be a major part of how a team finishes. I do feel that Monti and his staff improves the way we handle our usual bad (injury) luck.
