    Cardinals Bars Los Angeles

Hey guys, with the new season upon us, I was wondering if anyone knew of a good place to watch Cardinals games in the LA area. Thought it would be fun to watch with fellow fans.

It was $3 million, not $350,000.

2012 Arizona Diamondbacks season thread - June edition

Then you'll be seeing more doubles in the gaps. The ball that you like to bash Young for catching, would never have been caught by Parra. Being able to cover ground means less hits, which means less runs. A good arm won't be able to make up for all that.

2012 Arizona Diamondbacks season thread - June edition

Since you seem to be missing my point I'll make one last stab at it. I have been talking about range. Parra doesn't have great range. He has an arm which helps improve his stock defensively. You don't need that much range in left since there is little ground to cover. Example...

2012 Arizona Diamondbacks season thread - June edition

Well I would consider 24th to be one of the worst. http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=ss&stats=fld&lg=all&qual=y&type=1&season=2012&month=0&season1=2012&ind=0&team=0&rost=0&age=0&players=0&sort=23,d In 2010 when he won the gold glove he was 16th...

2012 Arizona Diamondbacks season thread - June edition

Gold gloves are a joke. Derek Jeter has won 5 including one 2 years ago. He is close to the worst defensive shortstop in the game. The award is as much about hitting as it is fielding. Parra is a good corner outfielder, where he doesn't have to cover that much ground. His arm brings his...

2012 Arizona Diamondbacks season thread - June edition

Errors don't matter. Better players usually make more errors because they can reach more balls. Parra consistently take poor routes to balls and that costs him. Think of it like Jim Edmonds. He made all those great catches because he put himself behind the 8 ball with a terrible route. On...

    Game of Thrones (HBO)

Don't forget there are 10 extra minutes tonight. If you do a season pass you should be fine but if you manually set the DVR be aware.

    2012 MLB Draft

I also think you are over-thinking the whole budget part of this. Last year's 26th pick was Blake Swihart who went to Boston. He was about as hard a sign as anyone in that draft and he eventually signed for $2.5 mil. The D-Backs have a slot of $1.7 mil this year and none of the guys I listed...

    2012 MLB Draft

It is the exact same as it has been years past. They don't sign a guy, they get the 27th pick next year. Piscotty has been ruined by Stanford. They screw up every hitter by forcing them to use their swing mechanics and it takes too long to change the players back. Also I don't know...

Apparently you neglect to see Parra's horrendous routes to the ball.

    2012 MLB Draft

None of those guys are worth taking at 26. The D-Backs have been said to be looking at high upside guys, most likely high schoolers. For me the guys I would want to see taken at 26 are Hunter Virant a left handed pitcher in high school who has a build similar to Tyler Skaggs. In fact his...

    Cards Sign Quentin Groves

It isn't like the Cards cut Fitzgerald to sign him. If he sucks they cut him before the start of the regular season. This is the definition of a low risk high reward situation.

    Who's our Ace?

I should have included Lee, I just plain forgot. Hamels and Cain are good but they are not 1s. Both have inconsistencies in their games. That said they are probably the top 2s in baseball.

    Who's our Ace?

Oh, I didn't take it as a call out. Just explaining what the positons are on the mound. There are so very few 1s and way to many people think their players will be one. The fact is most guys are really 3s or 4s. Bauer right now is a 2 at best because of his control, if he can harness it...

    Who's our Ace?

He was never a 1. To be an ace you need two plus-plus pitches, and the rest have to be at least above average, if not plus. Add in plus command and you have very few aces. People can play like aces but in the long run they won't be able to keep up that production and will regress to their...

    Who's our Ace?

There are very few true number ones in baseball. They are Verlander, Halladay, Kershaw, Lincecum, Hernandez, Weaver, and Sabathia. Everyone else is a 2 or worse, not that those are bad. Hudson as a package is the best pitcher on the team because his ceiling in a 2. Kennedy is a 3, Cahill is...
