    A Man In Full

Jeff Daniels stars as a real estate mogul whose extravagances and debt are catching up with him.... pretty much the Donald Trump story. Wife and I are really enjoying it. Netflix

    2023 Emmys

Please note @cheesebeef Being in the business and wll, I'd really like to hear your take on award shows. Whether it's Emmys, Oscars, Globes, Grammys or whatever, it seems like most years they find something they like and just pile the huge percentage of awards on it (show, actors, producers...

    Yellowjackets (Prime)

Good cast, pretty lousy show. Setup is unbelievable, unnecessary gratuitous sex, cheesy dialogue, bad pacing. Too, bad... this could have been pretty good, but..... Don't waste your time.

RIP: Howard Hesseman (aka Dr. Johnny Fever)(1940-2022)

Howard "Dr. Johnny Fever" Hesseman, from WKRP in Cincinnati passed away at age 81. Great, great character from an incredible show.

    Kickoffs

Not sure if this is the right place for this discussion, but shouldn't the NFL move the kickoff point to the 25 yard line? There almost never is a return at this point, so why bother? Just give it to the receiving team at the 25 and get on with it. Nah...... Move the kickoff point to the 25 so...

    HELP!

There is a movie out there where an unknown figure sends notes signed "A. Friend." Anyone remember where that's from? It's driving me crazy(ier).

    Tesla

The real story of Tesla is very, very interesting. The movie Tesla went for "artsy-fartsy." It didn't work, neither doing justice to the real story nor as an entertainment vehicle. Two and a half out of 5 stars. Don't waste your time.

    Innocence Files

This is heartbreaking stuff regarding people wrongly convicted and imprisoned, and helped out by the Innocence Project. Seen the first two episodes and would now like to nuke Mississippi. Good stuff, but depressing.

    Planet of the Humans

More Michael Moore fare. Mainly one sided "no chit Sherlock" stuff with a lot of problem identification, lack of solutions and shock video. Makes some valid points but has no solid point to make, which makes for a long, nearly 2 hour watch. 2.5 out of 5 stars, due to some intellectual dishonesty.

Anyone else watching this? It's pretty bizarre, but for some reason I can't quite identify, I'm liking it.

    Grammys

Silly and stupid. Alicia Keyes is always nice, as is Aerosmith. Most of the rest was poor, some of it excruciatingly so..... And if Billie Ellish is the best that the music world has to offer, it's time to shut down the industry.

    Red Dog

Discovered this 2012 Australian film the other night. Great mix of syrup, cornyness, humor, kleenex-time and fun. Good family fare that gets 80% plus on R/T from critics and fans. 4 out of 5 stars from the bride and me. https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/red_dog_2012 "Based on the legendary...

    His Dark Materials (BBC One/HBO)

Been watching this on HBO. For those unfamiliar with Philip Pullman's Trilogy, this is what the movie "The Golden Compass" was taken from. Once I got the old actors out of my head from the movie, I really started liking this. despite the liberties it takes with the source material (The Golden...

    Big Little Lies

Anyone watching this HBO series? I'm 3 episodes into it and am about ready to abandon it. Not a single endearing character in it, very screwed up people, lousy children one and all...... just a mess. At this point, good acting cannot save such a lousy mish-mash of plots, subplots, dream vs...
