    The 2024 NBA playoffs thread

If I remember correctly the talk at the time was that Brunson was a better player, but Okobo had more potential. Turns out Brunson was not only the better player, but also looks to have had more potential as well..

Week 18 of the Arizona Cardinals off season thread. 05/06/24-05/12/24

AJ Green went for roughly 850 yards for us in his first year. I would gladly take that kind of production from a guy like Thomas if we could get it.

NBA Finals Predictions 2024 (Pick only 2)

I just can't see Boston not coming out of the east. I do think the T-Wolves are a good pick, but I have a sneaky suspicion it will be OKC.

2024 1st round pick #27 is Darius Robinson Edge

Doesn't hurt to give yourself 12 chances in one draft either. If even 4-5 of these twelve turn into starter caliber we are in good shape.

2024 3rd round pick #66 is Trey Benson RB

The truth is that we won't know how much losing a step will affect him until it happens. His game may not be built around speed, but it is built around his speed. Frank Gore seems to be an outlier at this point, but shows that it could be possible.

Falcons Penix/Cousins Debacle. What say you?

It's not about affording it, it is the signal they are giving the whole organization that winning now isn't a priority. It specifically sends a message to Cousins that it's not about winning right now with him. It's just a weird move IMO.

Falcons Penix/Cousins Debacle. What say you?

Just seems dumb to give a guy 100m guaranteed and instead of using a high end pick to bring in talent to make the team better around him you draft his successor.

    "The Trade"

Makes some sense to build more towards one strength or the other. Establish a great run game and teams will have to be a little cautious with pinning their ears back to rush the passer. Of course you can also wear out the opposing front by pounding it down their throats early in the game and...

    "The Trade"

There are a bunch of reasons a player may not look great with their college team and look good at the senior bowl. For one they may be asked to play out of position for their college team, they may play for a coach that isn't great at putting them in positions to succeed and they may not be...

2024 1st round pick #4 is Marvin Harrison Jr

Kyler can make all those throws outside the numbers. Remember what he had going between him and DHop? There is a solid chance he can get something similar going with MHJ. Either way MHJ still showed out this past season with a much lesser QB than Stroud or Kyler.

TIME TO GET RICH: Kyler Passing O/U

I get that there are no guarantees with MHJ, but I do think he is ahead of the curve for a rookie. His route running is already amongst the best receivers in the league and he has been taking the same off season approach that a league vet would be taking. The question will be just how much...

    2024 Draft Grades

Only looked at the Kiper grades as I don't feel like spending forever looking it up. 2019 B+, 2020 B, 2021 B-, 2022 B, 2023 A-. The way I see NFL draft grades is A=A, B=C and C=F since they pretty much never give out anything under a C.

TIME TO GET RICH: Kyler Passing O/U

Kind of blows my mind that I've never known that. Not a gambler though, but it makes a ton of sense now.

TIME TO GET RICH: Kyler Passing O/U

If any of the QBs have good seasons for a rookie they will. Otherwise a very good season for MHJ could get it done.

2024 6th round pick #191 is Tejhuan Palmer WR

There is a reason why he slipped to the 7th round and guys like Palmer went before he did.
  16. CardsSunsDbacks

    Draft Thoughts

I mean their pre draft workouts don't agree with the more athletic assessment. Palmer has Rice in 40 time, bench reps and broad jump. Rice has him by about an inch in vertical.

    Draft Thoughts

At this rate I don't see any reason to think Rice would have been a better pick than Palmer. Nearly identical production last year and Palmer actually comes out slightly ahead. Rice did do that at a better program of course and while it means tougher competition it also mens he had had better...

    2024 Draft Grades

Would rather see good grades than bad grades. Hopefully we are still getting good grades for this draft 3 years from now..
  19. CardsSunsDbacks

2024 1st round pick #4 is Marvin Harrison Jr

Something to keep in mind, at least for this past season, his QB was not very accurate and he was often having to slow down and jump to catch even fairly short routes. Hard to have good YAC when doing that. While Nabers is a more electric athlete he also had a far superior QB throwing him the...

2024 1st round pick #4 is Marvin Harrison Jr

2023 Kelce, 2022 Kelce, 2021 Kupp, 2020 Evans, 2019 Kelce & Hill, 2018 none for NE, 2017 none for Philly, 2016 Edelman, 2015 Thomas & Sanders and 2014 Gronk. What this list shows is that you largely do not have to have an ATG receiver, but you typically need at least one of the better receivers...

Trying to get their own guys in as quickly as possible. Hopefully at least 7-8 of them stick.

2024 6th round pick #191 is Tejhuan Palmer WR

Just a YouTube review from a small channel.

2024 6th round pick #191 is Tejhuan Palmer WR

An interesting thing keep in mind at least when comparing stats to Brendan Rice is that Rice had a significantly better QB throwing him the ball. Their numbers are pretty even anyways.
  24. CardsSunsDbacks

2024 5th round pick #138 is Xavier Thomas Edge

What sticks out to me (at least in highlights) is that he is a very good athlete and doesn't give up plays. Made multiple great plays on 2nd and 3rd efforts.
