Paul Walker’s young brother to star in remaining Fast and Furious movies after he was hired to stand in for tragic actor

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbi...s-hired-stand-tragic-actor.html#ixzz33g54QDaK

The lookalike brother of tragic Fast and The Furious star Paul Walker is being lined up for a recurring role in the hit box office franchise after stepping in for the star.

Cody, 25, agreed to film crucial scenes for the Fast and The Furious 7 following the star's death in November as a tribute to his older brother.

And a production source tells MailOnline that Cody will be given a role in future movies, saying: 'Paul's character Brian O'Conner will be seen retiring, while his younger brother will join the crew.'

'Of course, Cody isn’t a replacement for Paul in any way, but the producers were really grateful that he stepped in to help them finish this last film and Cody so likeable and charming.

'It would be a tribute to Paul that Cody carries on the Walker name in the Fast and The Furious movies.'

I think they should let his character be Paul's brother in the movie as well. Sort of a thank you and let the Walker legacy continue in the films as long as people want to see them.

Damn! Still can't believe Paul is gone.

Linda and I are starting to go through the series. She hadn't seen any of them before 2 days ago.

‘Furious 8′ to Debut April 14, 2017

http://variety.com/2015/film/news/furious-8-to-debut-april-14-2017-1201478792/

“Furious 8″ will hit theaters April 14, 2017, Vin Diesel confirmed at Universal’s CinemaCon panel in Las Vegas on Thursday.

Choking back tears, Diesel told the crowd of theater owners, “It means a lot to me to get your blessing.” He took the audience back to two years ago when, on the same stage at Caesars Palace, Diesel and Paul Walker, the actor who died in a 2013 car crash, said they planned to move forward on a seventh film in the action franchise.

“We were giddy and excited,” said Diesel. “You all gave me so much confidence. There was so much love.”

At various points after Walker’s shocking death, it seemed that Universal might have to cancel the production. Shooting was not yet complete when the crash happened, but special effects technicians and stunt doubles enabled the completion of the project, resulting in what domestic distribution chief Nick Carpou termed “a cathartic experience for fans of Walker.”

Charlize Theron has entered talks to play the Fast 8 villain

http://www.comingsoon.net/movies/news/655523-fast-8-villain-charlize-theron#hcLvzQSukhCgR3X4.99

Having proven herself rather deadly behind the wheel in last year’s Mad Max: Fury Road, Charlize Theron is reportedly eyeing the Fast 8 villain role. Variety reports that the Academy Award winning actress has entered talks to star in director F. Gary Gray’s upcoming entry in the Universal Pictures franchise.

Fast 8 is set to hit theaters April 14, 2017 and is planned to launch a new trilogy of films. Whether or not that means multiple films for the Fast 8 villain remains to be seen. Fast 8 will be followed by a ninth film to be released April 19, 2019 and a tenth film planned to hit theaters April 2, 2021. Fast and Furious 8, 9 and 10 aren’t the only films new that Universal has planned for the franchise, either. It was recently revealed that plans are underway for both Fast and Furious spinoffs and prequels.

Why wouldn't any actor/actress not want this role?? They all know this movie will make a ton of money and I'm sure the pay is quite large to be in it. She would be great at it too because of how good of an actress she is, in any role!

When will we get Fast & Furious in Space? Oh wait....Pod Racing.

Theron would be cool as a villain. I just wish the almighty dollar didn't rule. The last movie would have been a perfect time to end the franchise.

Because these movies are solid-gold crap, and maybe legacy is more important to some actors? Not Deniro (sp?) obviously :)

unless you've actually seen Dirty Grandpa, you have NO idea how true that last sentence was.

I just saw it with my bad movie friend for ish and giggles... he had to be blackmailed... and if he wasn't, the Academy should demand he return his Oscar after making that movie. I mean, that was LEGENDARILY awful/offensive.

Ludicrously stupid... which is saying something for these movies, but still super fun, if not a little long.

The Rock and Statham steal this movie. Four MASSIVE set-pieces and Statham's airplane sequence are worth the price of admission.

And someone mentioned it as a joke earlier in the thread, but after watching this incredible nonsense, it's not going to surprise me at all if the next one takes place in space somehow.

There's also talk about a spin-off series involving The Rock and Statham.

Saw it last night, and was wondering how people loved it so much. Ya, the action scenes are great and plentiful, but everything else was just dumb. The Statham/baby scene in the airplane was probably the best (funny)...which tells you all you need to know about the overall quality of the movie lol

I enjoyed it. Not as much as the last one but this one felt more like they were attempting to take this is a new direction. The series is definitely running out of steam I think. They said the next two are the last in this "story". Probably the right thing to do.

However, I actually have to echo that Statham stole the movie. I also thought CT played a good villain. Enjoyable but not great. Worth a night out with the wife and still fun.

Jason Statham tends to do that--he has so much charisma that he essentially steals the movie from (arguably) more important actors.

I swear people are like heroin addicts. They need more, more, more. Bigger explosions, more spectacle.

Id be perfectly happy with a little movie made on $10M about street racing, like the firm film.

yup... he totally stole Spy as well. and yet, he can't really breakout big as his own star. I mean, he's got the Transporter series, but it's not like those are major money-makers.

that said, the Crank movies (while again not big money makers) were RIDICULOUS fun.

And a Statham/Rock team-up will be 120 minutes of big, dumb and fun and can't wait to see it.
