... According to Griffin III.

“In Arizona, the reason it wasn’t a good fit was because Carson [Palmer] was there,” Griffin said. “I was willing to come in and work behind an experienced veteran quarterback who’s done a lot of great things. They had the backup in [Drew] Stanton and they had also brought in Blaine Gabbert. Nobody lets four quarterbacks get practice time. That was the issue. It wasn’t the coach. The coach is a great coach. He’s a quarterback whisperer and I wanted to go there and learn from him. And it’s a stable franchise so that was all great. It just wasn’t the right decision for me and I had to make that decision and try to make the smart, educated decision.”

Shows they were somewhat desperate and ended up with Gabbert which based on salary was a good low risk move.

Except, the interest in RGIII according to him came after the Cardinals signed Gabbert. Not sure what to make of that.

RG3, in the pocket, has happier feet than a river dancer. He would've been broken in half behind this O-Line.

If that’s the case, I’m feeling more confident Arians might select Lamar Jackson or Baker Mayfield instead of the super big statue QB.
or maybe.... this is Keim looking towards the future regardless of what BA prefers in a QB?

Yeah, because I am going to take RG3's word for it
Sure, he could've made it up. But he added a fair amount of specific information about the Cardinals in his comment. And he could've declined to name the teams, but by naming the Cardinals he opened himself up to being caught in a lie if Keim were asked about it.

On the other hand, sure seems odd that the Cardinals would be interested in him after adding Gabbert. Could be all they did was ask about his availability, or offer to bring him in for a workout to see whether he was worth adding to their list of guys to call in case of injury to one of the top 3.

Remember when Kevin Kolb was gonna be the QBOF? What a clusterfarkle. Totally unproven, only a few starts under his belt in Philly. Still had a year left on his contract, yet they decided to extend him immediately at a huge number, for some stupid reason. Probably thought he was going to have a monster first year here and it wold cost more to sign him later.

I like Mayfield. Please, NO statues with a "big arm". Funkdat. I want a guy who's a winner first, tangibles second. Joe Montana was a skinny short kid with an average arm but a heart as big as a truck and that turned out pretty well.

If true, he would’ve been QB4 in TC and cut before the season started. Nothing to see here.
