MLB.Com Scouting report on De Los Santos

De Los Santos played mostly third base in his first three pro seasons but lacks the tools to stay there. With below-average speed and quickness, average arm strength and a history of erratic play at the hot corner, he'll likely wind up at first base, though he did get some looks in the corner outfield spots in Spring Training with Cleveland. Entering his age-21 season, De Los Santos will still get ample opportunities to push for Arizona’s 40-man now that he’s back.

He's a 1B not a 3B. You can't play hot garbage at defense at third.
Do you think he's Walkers replacement or a DH? That defensive drop off feels too steep. We also have Ivan Melendez and he's played aboun 75% his games at 3B and 25% at 1B.

It comes down to if the Dbacks sell Walker at the deadline.

I would much prefer him at DH even though he is a righty

The odd thing is the Dbacks have 3 guys that are pretty similar. Groover, Melandez, and De Los Santos. Bat first poor defenders. If you are buying at the deadline, this where I look buy with.

And keeping them all just means someone is going to get picked in the rule 5 draft. They got lucky that De Los Santos didn't make the opening roster last time

The Arizona Diamondbacks are assigning OF Ryan Waldschmidt to Visalia (Low A).

Waldschmidt was the 31st overall pick and hit .333 with a .469 on base percentage this past season for Kentucky.
