With as much parity as there is in this league, the difference between wins and losses is always a couple players getting injured. The 2022 Eagles didnt lose a single starter to injury for more than a couple weeks.

The 2022 Eagles also had a significantly more talented defense than ours even with a healthy Ojulari & Robinson.

Meh teams rely on highly touted rookies regularly in today’s NFL. This is just bad luck/cursed whatever you wanna call it.

No team is going to lose their #1 inside presence and and their #1 OLB and not be hurting personnel wise moving forward less than 2 weeks prior to the season.
The problem is, neither one of those guys should have been our #1 at this point. That was wishful thinking by our front office.

You think that going into year 2 of the rebuild, our roster should be so stacked that 1st and 2nd round picks from the past two years should be riding the bench? I mean I wish, but there are like 3 teams in the league that can do that, its not exactly realistic.

Yep, the season is officially over. Before BJ & Darius went down I thought there was potential to go 8-9 or 9-8 and maybe fight for a wildcard. That’s not likely now.

Do we know the extent of Darius Robinson's injury?

No GOOD team is going into a season with their #1 OLB and their #1 inside presence being pretty much completely unproven players… especially when they’re sitting on at least 25 million bucks worth of cap room and their defense was atrocious last year.

You don’t get to complain about injuries when you’re sitting on as much cap room as we did, with the GLARING needs we had on D.

It hurts their individual development more than the team collectively. Now Robinson will be entering year two with no NFL game experience and Ojulari will be entering year three with little impact made plus multiple injuries. Is there anything to be excited about regarding the defense this season besides the young corners (Williams & Melton)?
