BACH
Superbowl, Homeboy!
Quick notes.
Kyler is the highest rated QB in the league after 2 games.
The OL is interesting, so looked at the numbers.
Evan Brown is the best OL so far in the season - gradewise, but he is not asked to do the same as Hernandez, Froholdt and PJJ. They all have lower grades that they probably should, because they have low grades on zone blocking and obviously the blocking while pulling can't be compared to a zone blocking scheme. The blocks while pulling will not be perfect, but it's blocks against smaller defenders and not needed to be perfect. They are there to wreck havoc and create lanes.
Gardeck had an elite grade, but interestingly his snap count dropped. Goes back to my original take on Gardeck. He is the perfect pass-rush specialist, but not a 3 down starter. Give him limited snaps and let him shine.
The most encouraging IMO are the grades for our young CB room. Thomas, Melton and Williams all have "respectable starter" grades. If they are at this level already, then it looks really good for the future.
I also like the good grades for the back-ups coming in and playing in limited snaps.
Special call-out to Reiman's blocking grade. Watching him seal the edge on the outside runs with pulling OLs is a thing of beauty
