It’s all about the shot. Andre Roberson was the best wing defender in the league after Kawhi but got played out of the league because he couldn’t shoot. He has seemed to look in rhythm when catching & shooting which is all he needs to do. I was looking at old Okogie splits and he went 23/51 from 3 over a ten game stretch and everyone thought we had something.
Yeah Okogies hot streak is the cautionary tale and why I’m not in full “buy” mode yet.

Buying

The form is looking more and more natural.

Confidence is there, hopefully it doesn’t waiver like JO or those who go in a slump.

I mean that steal and pull up against the pistons had me like whaat!

Then the nuggets, well the trigger is a lot faster. Usually those who can shoot quick, with good form tend to be good shooters.

I have no doubt about his defensive chops, if he can be even a C- on offense, he’s a steal. Early on it looks promising.
Given how the league has progressed over the last half season with letting more physicality go on the defensive end, having someone like Ryan (and Okogie) who will be in people's faces a lot will be great.

Dunn was undoubtedly a steal, even if he doesn't grow his game. He's made Okogie redundant and expendable as well as Royce O'Neale if he can continue hitting 3's. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out but he also speaks to the value of late 1st round picks. We should never brush away their value.

He has the jumping ability of Marion, the defense of Mikal, and it looks like the three-point shooting of Grayson Allen. All we need to add is the ball-handling and passing of Steve Nash and maybe we would have a good player.

Ryan Dunn is such a good defender that refs ask his permission to call fouls.

IMO, it's way too early to compare Ryan Dunn to Shawn Marion when he hasn't even played a regular season game.

Players like Marion do not come along very often.

I watched only him in the last 2 games and even against lakers where the box score looks like he did nothing but get 6 fouls, he had the highest plus minus on the team. His defense is truly remarkable, AD had a couple real tough shots on him but overall, hes by far the best defender on the team and maybe one of the best in the league with a little disipline to learn

I am not sure if anyone brought this up already, but when we revisit this thread, it's worth remembering he is a rookie, and it is common for the rookies to have up and downs. It's also very common to hit that "rookie wall" in the second part of the season, as they are not used to the demands of the very long NBA season.

I really hate comparing players but to me he could be our Draymond Green. A player with some dog, defensive skill that can hit the 3. I know Draymond is a better rebounder, passer which makes him a thorn in everyone's side but I still see some of the traits, he is a rookie and Dunn is still learning his role.

The thing I love about the kidd is he is a pest. He frustrates other guys. He causes guys to alter or pass up shots. That doesn't show up on a stat sheet.

I know it's only been four games, but I am just going to say it: Dunn is overtaking Mikal as my favorite non-star in the league. His defense is damn-near perfect, and he is not bad on offense either. Most of all, I love the fact that he has no fear- there is never any hesitation with him.
