Kyle thinks we should beat Miami first, then consider becoming buyers at the trade deadline

Campbell loves loves loves Jameson and before the suspension Jameson had basically taken over WR1 duties from St. Brown. He is a high 1st round pick that is really living up to expectations this season.
Again.. this is a false statement. This isn’t true at all. St Brown is the number 1 and never lost that title.

Jordan has 50 million left on his contract and the cap hit is spaced out until 2028. He's 34 and I really don't want to be the team to help the Saints out of that contract.
That cap hit accounts for bonus money and does not transfer to the team trading for him. For the Cardinals, Cam Jordan would be under contract for 2025 only and have a 14 mil cap hit. He might be the most perfect fit for an in season trade that could be available. He shouldn't cost much. Is under contract for 2025. Is a vet for a group that lacks a vet leader and still plays at a high level.

i think Granderson would be a far preferable target than Jordan

under contract through 2027 at reasonable prices: ~$7mm, $12mm and $12mm

to get him would take a higher value pick -- 3rd at least.

Good points here, but I'm only grabbing him for a day three pick because of age.

two more names i would consider:

Arik Armistead, IDL for JAX.

DeForest Buckner, Indy. he has a weird contract that has a $23mm guaranteed sal for 2025 -- so it looks like he will likely be released this offseason. So this can be thought of as a rental, but a high impact one. [edit: i had no idea Indy was 4-4. they likely arent sellers]

Guys I think will be available that I haven't seen mentioned here.

Kayvon Thibodeaux - If I'm the Giants I'm keeping Azeez Ojulari who has 5 sacks on the year to Kayvon's 2 and is all you need at Edge #2 with Burns the other side. The Giants have a lot of money in Burns and while Kayvon is only in year 3 he's not had the impact expected and isn't likely to get paid by the Giants on his current arc. A change of scenery would suit both.
Yeah not going to happen. There is no way the Giants move off of Thibodeaux.

It would be like bringing a younger Calais Campbell back. Not a bad thing at all.

Cam Jordan is 35 years old and doesn't have a sack this season. I think he is at the end of his career. All time great though and is from Chandler, Az.

I don't think the Saints could afford to trade him as his prorated cap hit would be accelerated partially to this season ($11.5M). Not sure they have anyone else that they could restructure this season to fit that cap hit.

I would be shocked if we did anything significant. Instead, it will be more guys like Okwara. Other teams practice squad players. Who, actually, is playing a lot.

Total indictment of Mikey and MO if they don't go and at least look like they are getting the D some help.

We have a chance at the division, playoffs, and actual have the 8th winning season in AZ Cards history possibly with a better D.
It has to make sense. We know Monti’s plan. I find it hard to believe he’s not at least working the phones.
But if we make a move I’d rather they get a guy that can be part of this next year and not just a rental player.

I think he's exactly the player they should be moving off. Not lived up to draft expectations, big Brian Burns contract on the other side, being outperformed this year by Ojulari who they could sign for less, but still has enough value after a good year last year to get them something decent in trade. They could easily get by without Kayvon.

And they need draft capital to go find a QB.

I think Jordan and Z Smith will be day 3 draft pick guys. I may be wrong, but age and contract gives me that vibe.

Jordan is only playing 43% of snaps this year, even the Saints think he's past it.
