Curious to know how they knew he'd still be there at 28. Knicks had 2 picks between 22 and 28 and you'd think they'd be a threat to take him.

Because they liked not loved him. Sometimes you have to get luckily.

Lamar Jackson was the Raven’s second 1st rd pick.

They always say that, though.

Edit: Watched the video, okay, probably legitimate this time.
In the video I believe they were trying to decide which one they would take first--Dunn or Oso. The fact that they were able to maneuver the second day of the draft to get Oso was pretty amazing.

Yeah, there is always an element of luck. Maybe the Suns would have drafted Tyler Kolek at #28 if he was off the board?

They seemed pretty confident he'd be there in the video. To me it seemed they had good intel on the other teams or they would of stuck at 22.

Said it in the game thread, but he is starting his rookie season as well or better than you would expect from most top 5 picks. Outside of your generational talents I don't feel like you expect guys to be big impact players right out the gates.

And with Tsakalidis. :)
Ah, man. He never panned out but he had moments where you thought he could be the real deal.

I remember a game against the Lakers where Shaq tried to back him down into the lane and literally could not move him.

It was a gamble, but I think they thought his lack of shooting in today's game would suppress his value. Teams were looking at him thinking they'd be playing 4 on 5 offensively.

He must have shown some shooting chops in individual workouts with the Suns. This kid has landed in the perfect spot for his development. He gets all kinds of open looks with this roster and because he is such a good defender he gets playing time on a winning team.

Here's the reason why he dropped. Teams were probably seeing Ben Simmons/Markelle Fultz shooting issues. Fortunately, shooting can be coached/developed, but defense and the desire to defend can't.

Actually his form was fine, and those misses were on line, just completely the wrong distance. I'm not surprised that was fixable. It's when the mechanics make it impossible to control the ball that you have real trouble.

Way way way too early but as of right now? He looks to be a good balance of Bridges (defensively) and Cam's shooting. If he continues to develop and stays on this path? Wow. I can't wait see what happens when the kids goes from trying to prove he belongs and KNOWING he belongs in this league. I hope he is not just a flash in the pan because he is fun to watch.

Agree and disagree. The free throw yips could be a mental issue which is a tough nut to crack and can send a player reeling.

It looks to me that he already knows he belongs. I mean who throws a "too small" gesture at LeBron in just his 4th NBA game? I suppose the question will be what happens when he goes through an eventual slump, will he remain aggressive or start to shrivel up?
