No doubt. I didn't say it's feasible. Only that if you could somehow figure it out you would have to do it. It likely would require Book unless you could figure out some 3 way deal.
I don't know the new rules but can we even do it as part of a multi-team deal? If so, maybe someone would put up enough picks to get Milwaukee interested but no way are they going to want to go from Giannis to Devin unless GA has started breaking down.

Yeah… Giannis would have to demand out and raise a stink to get this kind of thing going.

That's how we got Royce. It involved Memphis, Nets and us. I think the key is we just can't aggregated the salary portion of the deal.

I thought the 2nd apron limitations became even tougher for us this year?

Y’all are looking at this the wrong way… we have to give something legit great and young to get a Giannis… that ain’t KD. It’s Book.

That’s the only way that happens. They’re going to want someone young, not an aging KD who probably wouldn’t even show up.

Big 2 of Giannis/KD and role players. Inside out game. An actual leader with Giannis and rim protector? That team is immediately better than this one and timeline… Giannis is only 1 year older than Book so it’s basically same.
Yep. And Book would probably not be enough.

It is interesting, because if he did that AND they are under the second apron restrictions, they would be very limited in what they could trade for. Young stars don't have big enough contracts to make it work. They would have to take back a youngish star and as many picks as they could get.

This isn't a realistic discussion, but it is interesting to consider how the new CBA impacts situations like this.

I think you are correct it's tougher. It says "Teams above the second apron cannot combine multiple players' salaries into trades." I am no cap/2nd Apron expert but it would seem to me that as long as the trade pieces between the Bucks and Suns matched (Giannis for KD) it might still be legal. If you say send another player (Grayson to a 3rd team) and in return that team sent assets to the Bucks it could work because that part of the transaction would be with that 3rd team and not the Bucks.

Maybe that would still be considered illegal? I don't know. It would be super complicated (and not likely). I looked and didn't see any language that specifically prevents 3 way trades but I don't have the entire thing in front of me either. I could be totally wrong.

Yeah I'm a little embarrassed for this site just to see anyone even remotely speculating about this. Even Booker isn't enough to make it happen.

I don't see anyone suggesting it would happen. I said I don't see how Milwaukee would sign off. Day dreaming is free though and the idea Giannis could be available definitely warrants dreaming about.

Giannis is going to be traded to OKC.

Makes too much sense for both parties.
Oh man… that would make sense. Kinda. But they already look like world beaters and have everyone on the same timeline. Giannis might make them better now, but… eh… they probably don’t end up a loser if they do or don’t make a deal. They’ll be great either way.

But they def have the assets.

Should Kevin Durant win a championship with the Suns, I suspect he will get a statue.

Maybe the whole team would...

Good article from ESPN about the Suns and importance of signing Tyus. They do mistakenly refer to him as "Tre Jones", which is his brother that is also in the NBA and went to Duke. Tre is a good player also with a similar career trajectory as Tyus but Tyus is much better. Outside of that mistake in the article though it's solid.

Just tracking turnovers. Only 5 teams in the NBA turned the ball over more than the Suns last season (#25).

This year so far the Suns are #13 in turnovers. Still too many but an improvement so far.

Hopefully the last 3 games are more indicative as they have averaged just 11 in those games. Averaged 19 in the first 2 games. That's a difference of being ranked 13th or like 2nd.

i doubt the 31’ unprotected pick is enough but at least found a 2nd apron trade that’s allowed!

I the 2031 pick is far from the biggest reason they'd decline that trade.

The pick is the only reason Utah would consider it. Clarkson is the PG version of Nurk so they’re a wash value wise…. It would essentially be the pick for Kessler.
