it’s become pretty apparent this regime recognizes talent that fits their scheme and culture.

You can look up and down this roster and find guys that most of us thought were JAGS. Hernandez, Lopez, Stills among others have truly stepped up and contributed.

We were all disappointed when we didn’t sign some help on defense and most mocked the Browning signing. He contribute already.

I’m beginning to think we are not going to be a team that signs a 100m superstar. However, if we keep drafting and developing talent we will be looking at signing our own players to those kind of deals.

The future looks bright and the time has come to give MO the benefit of the doubt.

I think as fans we should pump the brakes.... I don't want to admit it, but, this team is over performing.

However, I like that this team values tackling on defense.... JG's corners TACKLE.... the safeties tackle. the linebackers tackle. The D line tackles...

That is football.
Okay. Time to pump the brakes. But at what point do we say it’s not overachieving? 7-4? 10-5?

There has to come a point in time where it’s no longer be overachieving and it becomes good?

Many a team has won championships and indeed Super Bowls with Good-Great Defense and a stout running game sure Passing is Pretty but Defense still brings the bacon home more times than not

My big question for Monti is at what point does this team spend money? They are projected to have the 3rd most cap space going into next year. What’s the plan? Re-sign our own guys? Spend big in FA? Continue to just stash it away and draft and develop? I wonder if the fact that Bidwill is still paying the old regime is influencing how they spend money.

Someone posted last week that the team is ahead of schedule and this next off season was intended to be the spending off season to make a legit playoff run. Hopefully this run and the obvious culture change will help signing a couple of impactful FAs, while extending a few core guys like Budda, McBride, Conner, Kyzir White, either Brown or Hernandez at Gaurd, Brewer and maybe Browning.

If I’m Monti I’m making resigning our stars the top priority.

He failed with too many FA signings like Bilal, Justin Jones, Sean Murphy-Bunting…(Mack Wilson is amazing to his credit)

Another strong draft and it will take a ton of pressure off either way.

100%.

Sign Budda and Connor to solid 2-3 year deals if you can. Pretty soon we're going to need to re-up both Kyler and McBride, plus Luketa is becoming a player to keep as well. Damn it's nice to see a team developing.

I’m not sure why these questions keep getting asked when he and JG answered them all from jump street and have done nothing to show any doubt or deviation in their original plan. The big money will be spent retaining the quality players we develop. They have built the culture they said they would.

This. Identify players that fit our scheme and culture then retain them while drafting wisely.

10-5 would make me happy but even that is fickle.... this league moves so quickly... Only major sport with a true salary cap, right???

It's very nice & it's a product of coaches that know how to develop & coach.

I dont think Bilal and Jones were failed signings, sucks they got hurt but were making some plays. Gannon likes to sub D line pretty often to keep them fresh and it seems to be working.

Whoa, no, they were godawful! @DVontel mentioned in another thread how it's kinda been helpful for us to see them to go out so the players behind them can do well.

Maybe they were in preseason mode and would have been much better at this time of the year as others have been?

Cards never have and probably never will sign big money free agents. They have a culture brewing and they're going to sign guys that fit that culture and not any prima donnas just looking for the payday.
At some point, you do have to pay for talent though.
