Hold onto the ball, Murray!
Not hardly. Less violent but with a good story could be just as compelling. Less violent but with a crappy story is just, well, crappy. That’s not why people hate it now.

Not liking my tastes won't be any skin off my back. I'm by far not the only one on this thread deriding the story in what has turned from a great show to an unwatchable one in almost record time. Some of the critiques here involve a drop off in the violence. As far as story, no offense but I will take that with a grain a salt since you seem to love the stories of the crappy comic book based movies that I don't care for personally.
Dude, this is the perfect situation. Now she has a show that is hers, and you get an hour to go do something elseMid-season finale.... 100 minutes of zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz 9 minutes of interesting but obvious stuff at the end, and three minutes of Beth "John Wick" Dutton in action while dressed as a prostitute. (At least she wasn't drunk). As usual, they f another thing up, claiming that there is a county in either Montana or Wyoming that has zero population. Not true.
Show picks up again in the summer. Oh, goody. I wish there was a way I could talk my bride out of watching it......
You're right! I just need to do it.Dude, this is the perfect situation. Now she has a show that is hers, and you get an hour to go do something else
Did the mid-season finale really start with 15 minutes of freaking Jimmy?!
I fast forwarded after a minute and was just sitting there, mouth agog at how long I had to fast forward through that opening.Yes, and for no reason at all. Didn’t have anything to do with anything. I think they just wanted to remind us of his existence.
Wasn't bad, but except for a moment or two, wasn't particularly good, either.
Yeah, I gave up on the show when it cratered in quality. Beth having an absolutely flat arc in almost every way got so boring too. She went from edgy to just cartoonish.I think this description not only sums up the mid season premier, but also the last few seasons.
Yellowstone has always been on the same network. I don’t believe it’s ever switched platforms.Whelp..... looks like I'll have to wait for awhile to see the rest of Yellowstone. I have Paramount Plus as an add on, but it doesn't stream on that. I think they've really screwed themselves with their "follow the bouncing platform" nonsense (Paramount+/Peacock/Paramount streaing).... Quite frankly, the show just isn't so good that I'm going to spend more money for a few additional episodes.
Yeah.... I think I misspoke. Past episodes are available on Peacock. Anyway..... my point is the same: The show ain't worth the extra dough. I'll wait.Yellowstone has always been on the same network. I don’t believe it’s ever switched platforms.
I don't like the dynamics that have shifted between Jamie and Beth's characters. it has dominated the show and with the way Costner left the show I thought his death was very soap opera like. honestly that's what I see the show as now. a cowboy soap. for the first 4-5 seasons there were overdramatic storylines where each episode kind of had it's own story. now each episode feels like it is in a lull waiting on the finale.Just watched the season 5B opener....... It was okay, except I hated being reminded of what an absolutely awful, unbelievable character Beth is. They had 3 or 4 plots going at the same time, but it wasn't hard to follow. The time spent in Texas (and getting there) was a bore fest, but okay. They tipped off the end at the beginning, but that's okay too, I suppose. Let's see where it goes from here.

It is pretty comical, how confusing it is. The show is sort of guilty pleasure for me, and I have been recording the new broadcasts of the second half of the season on the Paramount Network, which I get via Hulu + Live TV, so that I can fast forward past the commercials. Initially I was looking on Paramount+, but it doesn't stream there as you note. The premiere episode aired on CBS, which is accessible on Paramount+, causing further confusion for some people, lol. In addition to Peacock, I believe that the old episodes are available on Prime Video.Whelp..... looks like I'll have to wait for awhile to see the rest of Yellowstone.
