I think Caleb will be fine. He's shown flashes this year in some games.

The Bears should have fired Eberflus last year and drafted with a new offensive HC. It was an obvious mistake as Eberflus has been garbage for years. And Waldron's scheme is absolute garbage.

I think he put too much pressure on himself thinking he was just going to come in and be great with all the weapons he has. It's funny, because on draft night he told the punter he drafted that he won't be punting much, and the punter has more yards than Williams.

He sucks so bad his own teammates are trying to bring him down in the media
Just wondering if the same thing was said about Troy Aikman and Peyton Manning in their rookie years.

I was at the Bear vs Cards game and was closely watching Williams. The main thing I noticed was his lack of accuracy with his receivers. I'm not sure how correctable than can be.

I don't know what the future holds for Caleb Williams, but do you realize how bad you have to be, to be a top QB draft pick and not even be in the conversation for OROY? I mean, you're really, really bad, if that happens...and we're witnessing it for the 2nd year in a row (Bryce Young).

Is the line that bad or does he hold the ball too long? I think a lot is on him.
Holding the ball too long is one of the three top flaws of rookie QBs. It’s considered a coachable issue that is typically corrected, but it takes awhile. It’s often reflected most by highly competitive players.

Just wondering if the same thing was said about Troy Aikman and Peyton Manning in their rookie years.

Their teammates weren't going to the press saying they need to be benched.

There is more here than rookie struggles. From him texting the newly drafted punter that he wouldn't be needed minutes after he was drafted to all the hype on Hard Knocks...

He seems really spoiled. Remember, this was his face before he walked away from CJ Stroud post game when Stroud was trying to give some advice about rookie struggles without acknowledging him or saying anything.

For myself, I had no idea what their teammates were saying, as it seems like a different era. Now, we hear a lot more.

Trevor Lawrence wasn't in the OROY conversation. Williams can't help how Jayden Daniels is playing.

The NCAA is not as effective as it used to be at properly developing QBs and O-linemen anymore. These positions specifically require development now post-college. When I watch Caleb, his inaccuracy IMO comes from him not really knowing where to go with the ball, bad footwork, and panic.

It’s coaching. He needs a developer. Coaching, simplifying concepts (does he even know how to properly read a defensive back’s position in a high-low stretch?), and fundamentals work is what he needs IMO.

Going to the Bears may have been the worst thing possible for his career.

I love how my post gets an immediate thumbs down from someone I’ve blocked on this site. Does the site even work anymore? :biglaugh:

I can say that we all would love a global ignore option. We have asked about it but hearing this is super disappointing.

I saw a hilarious clip from the Bears Patriots game.. Caleb was rolling around on the ground pouting then quickly started to get up when he realized no Bears players ran over to help him up, a Patriots defender ended up helping him to his feet then patting him on his helmet.

He may have talent but he doesn’t have the maturity part figured out yet.
