Midway through the second quarter, with the Cardinals leading 14-6, the Jets’ Quincy Williams absolutely blasted Kyler Murray for a sack. Murray’s helmet landed about 10 yards away from his body, and he had to be helped back onto his feet. What happened next convinced me that we underrate Murray’s toughness significantly. He got up, smiled and promptly dialed up two absolute dimes to Trey McBride and Marvin Harrison Jr. to finish off the promising drive and deliver a dagger to the Jets. He might lack the gaudy passing numbers of the Joe Burrows and Lamar Jacksons of the world, but I think we need to start including Murray in the MVP discussion a bit more. He finished Sunday’s beatdown with 266 yards and a TD on 22-of-24 passing, along with two TDs rushing. His candidacy will clearly get a boost if the Cardinals make the playoffs for just the second time in nine seasons, but I think he deserves to be right in the mix now.

But, you have to give the offense a lot of credit. Coming in to both the Bears and Jets games, a lot of talk was how good each of their defenses were, yet we had no issues scoring. And that forced the opposing offenses to change their game plans.

The "The best offense is a good defense" has validity here.

Are you sure that's how you wanted to put it?

(The fact is our points per game scored and allowed after ten games are almost equal)

Funny hearing the Chargers drop into the top ten. Ask them if they would like to take another shot at us?
No worries Chargers are going to drop due to the rest of their schedule.

Fully expect the Bengals to jack stomp them this weekend.
They then have:
Ravens
Chiefs
Falcons
Bucs
Broncos

Needs to do it another season before this is a reality.

This has been a Jekle and Hyde season offensively from a play call perspective.

I mean doubt DP at your own peril, but he strikes me as more of a mad scientist type vs. a leader of men.

Not super sure he's NFL head coach material (I could be completely wrong).

I just don't see him getting a shot next year as a HC. Want to see how he does the rest of the year. He has been hot as of late.

No idea if he will be a good HC it is such a crap shoot.

Right now the marriage of Drew Petzing and Kyler Murray looks like a match made in Heaven. Would either be as successful without the other?

Bengals can't jack stomp anyone. That defense is trash truck juice. The Falcons? I don't trust those clowns as far as I can throw them. I haven't seen a complete game from them yet.

This reminds me of the 3 card monti guy. Watch the other hand. Or in this case watch the other Coordinator. The Defensive guy, because, imo, that is where the magic is happening. Or if you want, "Follow the money". Figure out how much we are paying the 11 starters on offense and on defense.

What a joke. Especially considering the title

Eh... :) The offense is rounding into form, it's true, and don't get me wrong I love Budda and the Miracles (haha), but is our defense really more than smoke and mirrors?

Rallis must be doing something different once opposing teams get into the red zone. If some opposing OC figures it out, we may be in trouble.

But I see your point though! 23 is a little bit of a slap in the face!

Team’s gotta make the playoffs to consider this year a success, IMO. I don’t care what expectations were per-season… we’ve now seen this team can actually be good. The schedule is much easier down the stretch, we’re relatively healthy getting guys back and the NFC is really weak outside of Detroit.

Playoffs in Year 2 will cement major progress for the team. Blowing a division lead in the second half of the season will only echo the team’s hit starts/poor finishes from the past. Gotta break that cycle!
