Royce plays great with the big 3 but is awful without them. Plain and simple.
That's true with everyone. KD lets Book play without the double teams. Having KD and Book on the floor together let's Beal play more open in space, and so on. Having KD out makes this team a whole different beast.

Defense isn't just blocks. But whatever.
I was pointing out without KD there's no rim protector. There's a reason this last 6 games teams are getting layups all game long against us. It's easier to play defense if you have a rim protector behind you.

Dunn slowing them down by dogging Brunson bringing it up. I am amazed Brunson wasn't able to get Dunn a cheap foul. Great discipline by Dunn.

Rim protection is more than shot blocking. Wade and MJ averaged about 1 block a game while no one would consider either rim protectors. Wemby doesn't need blocks to be a rim protector either. He's a deterrent. Changing shots is often more effective than blocking them because it allows a clean rebound vs ending up right back in the original shooters hands.

True. Let me rephrase it. KD is our best interior defender AND our best shot blocker, and arguably the best defender, PERIOD. Freaking A, I KNOW being a good defender is more than just blocking shots. Sheez. I know you guys are pissed at the Suns. Don't take it out on me. FUDGE!

I disagree KD is our best defender but I was more adding my 2 cents than trying to discredit your take. In fairness your take wasn't that clear initially. Not looking to argue either way as I'm not pissed. If this Suns team made me pissed then I'd be happy they made me feel something other than disappointment.
