as much as I loved Hump, it’s been so nice not having false starts derail our drives. PJ has been really really solid for us

I'm happy with our current guys but I would bring him back for the vet min as a swing tackle.
Not sure how healthy he is but he would probably be an upgrade over Beachum

Johnson has given up 4 sacks and has 3 penalties in 10 games. Humphries gave up 4 sacks and had 9 penalties (second most of his career) in 15 games last year. Humphries averaged 5.7 penalties a year as a Cardinal. Seems pretty even to me.

Honestly, he's going to need to play to knock the rust off and gain confidence in that knee. No way I'd want him this year, it's too risky if he needs to play. Remember Taylor Lewan and what happened to him against us his first game back. He gave up 5 sacks to Chandler Jones was put back on IR, played a few more games and retired. I don't think Humphries should see game action this year. Someone should sign him to their PS and just get practice reps and then next season he might be truly ready to play.

Wish there was a scenario where we could give hump a home, but doesn’t look that way, especially if he is looking to start.

Honestly stoked that our o line is solid enough that we won’t even consider a former quality starting LT on this roster
I am sure the Cardinals have reached out and will be an option if The Captain can't find a starting spot somewhere.

Can Tackles play Guard?
Moreso than guards playing tackle.
But Hump would be wasted inside. When you consider the pay difference it isn't likely he would sign on to play guard.
True or not at this point, he is a starting left tackle in his mind...and he'll need to know that's no longer true before he agrees to move inside

How's that??

OL play with the most torque on their knees. A large majority of college football programs, particularly at the Division 1 level, require their offensive linemen to wear knee braces becauseofnthw abusetheir knees take. Practice is one thing, but game action is completely different. If he comes back too soon and isn't confident on that knee, he could be the next Taylor Lewan. I hope that's not the case, but honestly, he'd be smart to join a PS, get practice reps in and come back next year ready to go.
