They play the winner of the Texas - Clemson game.

I have not been following anyone outside the Big 12 this year, but heard Texas was favored by 9 on the radio this morning. And the college football expert at the grocery store told me this morning that Texas will win. He is a Miami fan and doesn't think much of Clemson apparently.

Texas has consistently been overrated this year, mainly because their QB (Ewers) is not nearly as good as advertised. They're more talented than Clemson and ASU for that matter. 9 pts seems a lot but I would expect them to beat Clemson. And then they'll have to play nearly flawless ball to beat the Devils.

Unfortunate loss for ASU. Welch is talented. It would be great to have the targeting penalty against S. Simmons overturned.

Ya, I really like LT.

Interesting listening to K. Dill. today. They told those players that want to transfer out to announce it now to give them an advantage in the process, rather than waiting until after the CFP. And you can see Dillingham promoting these players on Twitter to help them. If they don't find a landing spot with more playing time, they can always exit the portal and stay. Pretty cool "player first" approach that allows them to keep playing in the CFP.

And honestly, I think the players transferring in via the portal are going to upgrade the roster for next year, at least that is the indication for the WR's.

Kelly Dillingham is appealing the targeting penalty on Shamari Simmons to the NCAA.

Getting the bye is significant for the program and it will be nice to hopefully get guys as healthy as they can. Anyone concerned the Devils might lose their juice with such a long layoff? Part of me wishes the Devils could just get it going and keep the momentum.

No matter who they get, it’s gonna be a battle.

I'm concerned with the time off between games. ASU was peaking and now they have to wait.

Agreed, although in his presser Kenny seemed to have a good plan having talked to other coaches who have been through the same waiting periods for big college games. Sounds like they have this week off, and then they are going into a "bye week" type prep, mixing in some heavy hitting at least once a week, building their workload tolerances, but also trying to avoid the starters getting hurt. Easier said than done though, let's hope it works.

Of course, getting a bye is much better than not getting a bye.

Success came quickly this season, so as fans we will have to adapt. What a wonderful problem to have.

Could be an issue, but there was going to be a good sized gap of time off in any case.

Granted, whoever they play will be coming off a prior week game, so that team won't be as rusty. That's more likely to present an issue, if at all.

Hopefully, the national media constantly doubting this team or outright saying they do not belong at this level will provide some motivation.

Arizona State football fans slam 'truly insulting' College Football Playoff graphic

How much of a Cinderella story is the Arizona State football team this season?

Evidently big enough to not know what the Sun Devils' logo is.

At least that is what happened on ESPN's "College Football Live" on Wednesday, when Sam Acho was unveiling his tiers for the College Football Playoff on the show.

During the segment, the logo that appeared when Acho was talking about ASU football was the block A of the University of Arizona.

Oops.

Acho pointed out the mistake quickly during the segment, saying: "That should be an ASU symbol, that's how much of a Cinderella story it is."

--------------------------------------------

Tried to spin it off as a cute mistake, but how can the alleged "Worldwide leader in sports" continue to mix up the logos of Arizona and Arizona State? Ridiculous.
