He will not pay 33 million. A new team will do that. They will only go as a cap hit, but the salary cap is just an accounting tool. Bidwill would save money by trading him, and the dead money cap hit is very manageable.

I hear you. I would go after Justin Fields. I think that he is the best bet to have a revival like Sam Darnold, Geno Smith, or Baker Mayfield. I even think that Fields would be a good fit in Petzing’s offense.
I hear what you’re saying G but Bidwill is not going to pull the trigger on it.
I honestly think Fields woildnt be any worse than Kyler especially dollar for dollar.
I’m also afraid a move for Fields would not be readily embraced by the fans. However, he would be a cheaper bridge to wherever this goofy franchise is headed.

The idea that anyone in the league still believes that Murray has "huge potential" but that the Cardinals just haven't been able to find it in six seasons with two coaching staffs stretches credulity.
I think the potential is obvious, Daves. Murray’s highs are very high. I believe it was Bill Walsh (I am not sure about that, though) who have said to judge a player by his best play, and then it is up to the coaches to get it out of him. Now, he said it in regard to draftable players, but I think the point is the same in the Murray-case. Going by that theory, there are certainly many NFL coaches with big enough self-esteem to believe that they can get the maximum out of Murray.

There are several teams that are desperate for quarterbacks, and another way to look at Murray’s value is to ask what Plan B is for those teams? By all accounts, the quarterback class in the draft is not impressive, and there will most likely only be one or two quarterbacks on the free agent-market worthy of a bigger contract. There will surely be teams that miss out on those few options, which could easily lead them to Murray.

It's also hard for me to imagine a team being "thrilled" to take on a guy that the Cardinals, in this scenario, would be eager to be rid of.
The Cardinals are most often among the bad teams in the NFL. I am sure there are many other teams that will believe they can do better than the Cardinals.

No, I agree. I think that Fields have proven to be a good NFL quarterback, and I certainly think he still haven’t reached his full potential. I would not mind going into the next season with him as the starter.

You know how Kyler panics in games with big implications? Well Fields panics whenever he has a lead in the 4th quarter. His signature move is to fumble while backpedaling.

Where is the coach that let Wilson go today?
And if you’re talking about Pete, who cares? Pretty sure Seattle Seahawk fans don’t care because, you know… they’re Seahawk fans, not Pete Carrol fans. And last time I looked the Seattle Seahawks are headed back to the playoffs… again.

Exactly Pete is no longer a coach.

Wilson is also about to win a tough division and take another team to the playoffs.

Lets not get JG fired for making dumb decisions like Pete.

Gannon and Ossenfort won’t do this because it isn’t their style, but they should bring Kyler in for a sit down meeting this week and tell him that the next 4 weeks are an audition to determine his future with the team. This accomplishes 2 things: Kyler finally faces reality and we see if he can handle the pressure. At the least, sit him down and say that the next 4 weeks will determine if we bring in a new QB to replace him or to compete if he doesn’t show marked improvement.

I agree with this but after the season is over.

I'd rather forego another lost season and enter the great unknown of FA/trades/draft and try to upgrade. We should, at all times, be trying to make this roster better. Keeping Kyler just tells the team and the fanbase they aren't serious about winning for yet another season.
This!!! If we are gonna be a run first play great defense team then we just need a game manager making peanuts and build up the roster….i will say this I would rather have Justin fields at a low price then keep paying Kyler all that money

lol he has been in the league six years and can’t get it done. We can’t continue with him in my opinion . Bottom line when you make Patrick mahomes money you better deliver with the likes of Trey McBride Marvin harrisson and James Conner on your team…he is too short and can’t attack the middle of the field. I was praying keim wouldn’t give him that big contract but it is what it is….until we get rid of Murray we will never have sustainable success

Last I checked, there's a presumption of innocence in these United States of America. He was never convicted, never criminally charged. The only information we have is that she sued him right before the 2015 NFL draft for an incident that supposedly happened in 2012.

She was so emotionally distressed that she wanted a check instead of justice. Winston counter-sued her for defamation immediately after.
"Last I checked".... SO high and mighty. You know less than nothing about this case. And instead of applying an equal measure of empathy to both sides, you immediately called her a *****. I see you. You're gross.

Kyler’s entire tenure has been over half of a lost decade. Continuing on this path only ensures we get closer to the full lost decade you mentioned above.

Make the change. Seattle did it with Wilson three years ago and are headed to the playoffs for the second time in 3 years with a journeyman QB. The Broncos did it last year and are headed to the playoffs with a rookie QB most people trashed at the beginning of the season as one of the worst ever. The Vikings did it last year and are in the hunt for home field advantage in the NFC.

Continuing on with the QB at the head of the snake responsible for the failure of the last six years is the definition of insanity.
You've been on the Bo Nix was viewed as trash narrative for a hot minute now. I don't remember this. The Broncos picked him 12. Was he really seen as trash? Or just with some age red flags? Honest question, cause my brain says he was fairly decently touted.

Lol… it is pointless talking about this with you. Even knowing Kyler isn’t the answer you’re still clinging to him staying here even when it’s been shown multiple times in just the last couple years that moving on from Kyler’s kind of mediocrity doesn’t doom a franchise moving forward.

Not mine. We saw guys like him
and McCarthy make huge leaps into first round QBs very late in the game because that’s just how the first round is now with QBs being overvalued over so many others.

And he sure as hell wasn’t touted as decent early in the season when he was awful. But he turned it around something fierce for a rookie.

He’s flailing to making any attempt at very bizarre reasoning to keep Kyler around… now it’s in the name of saving Gannon’s job!
