Not sure the market value of a 28 year old cleanup safety who only makes 3 game-changing plays a season
Come on without Buddha our D would be pathetic. He makes touchdown saving tackles every single game, usually more than 1.

Now that has a lot to do with the talent of the rest of our defenders, but since we can't fix that in a single offseason, he is well worth resigning.

Budda's average tackle this week was made 7.5 yards downfield. Tackles are great, but if they're not accompanied by a single pass breakup (NOT ONE! -- He has three passes defensed THE ENTIRE SEASON), I don't really understand what we're doing here.

Pay him; we have too much money already, but Cards State Media pumping up Budda Baker with 0 INTs and 0 forced fumbles in 2024 is peak lipstick on a pig.

Nice leaving out all the stats. 2 sacks, 9 TFL's, and I don't have the pressure numbers.

142 tackles so far with 3 games left. Who is going to make those tackles? How many points would the D have given up without them?

Jalen is the one that needs to go and we need better players in front of Budda.

Pay Budda.

Edit
Safeties:
Tackles - 1st
Sacks - 4th
TFL's - 1st

Yeah, continuing to pay top money for a guy in a low impact position because you don't think anyone credible will sign here seems like a loser mentality.

This sounds pretty hyperbolic.

2 sacks and 9TFL isn’t all THAT impactful. How many plays on the field to accumulate that? How many INTs and FFs and fumble recoveries does he have? Those are real game changing plays. An area he is completely lacking in and always has. A tackling machine is nice but let’s not act like he is Ed Reed or Troy Palemalu back there.

Fun/sad fact: Rabbit has the same amount of PDs this year as Budda and Thompson combined while playing 23% of the total snaps for the season.

This defense desperately needs more playmakers. They can't keep relying on SMB intercepting passes that bounce off receivers.

So the bar for Budda is two of the best safeties in the history of NFL?

There is a reason why every single game the opposing coaches, and whoever the announcers are, speak so highly of Budda. Tom Brady said on every single play against him he checked where Budda was. He is the keystone of our run defense. Should he be that on a more talented defense? No. But he is on our defense. The vast majority of run plays that are for loss, or minimal gain, this season are him reading the play and hurtling his body like it's shot out of a cannon at the RB. Or, he blows up a blocker that allows someone else to make the tackle. He also QBs the coverages of the pass defense as well and our secondary has greatly improved as the season has gone on.

It will be all about the guaranteed money. I would guess 50 million would get it done. If we don't pay him someone else will.
