1 – On one of the first plays, Murray hit Harrison on a slant for a nice gain. The rest of the game, Harrison were being eaten alive down the field by Christian Gonzalez. Maybe Petzing should reconsider the way to use Harrison.

2 – Impressive game by Jonah Williams. Several key blocks, overall good pass protection, and of course the nice heads-up play in the end zone.

3 – The opponents very often attack Murphy-Bunting. That, obviously, tell the story of a bad signing, but also that teams prefer not to throw against Melton on the other side.

4 – I feel bad for Mack Wilson. You know that he must have been highly looking forward to this game, being a former Patriot.

5 – Wonderful news that they are negotiating with Budda Baker. Game after game after game he proves to be the heart and soul of the defense. He’s not “just” a safety. It shocks me to see that some fans are not that excited about it. I mean, I don’t really like the fluffy “leader”-designation, but it could not be more spot on than to describe Baker. It’s not like you are only paying for the measurable production.

6 – What an absolutely idiotic throw by Murray on the would-be-INT-if-not-called-back. Reminded me of the catastrophic interception he threw from own end zone against the Rams in the playoffs some years ago.

7 – Almost immediately Baron Browning has become their best edge rusher (at least when talking about pass rush. Overall, Zaven Collins is challenging him).

8 – Don’t fool yourself. They are not catching both the Rams and Seahawks. The rest of the season is either about strengthening a winning culture under the Gannon-Ossenfort Project, or playing for draft position, whichever of those options you prefer.

9 – Did you see how two Patriots-players (#81 and #85, no idea of the names) were smiling and laughing on the sideline with a few minutes left of the game? Major Derek Anderson-Deuce Lutui flashback.

10 – The Patriots didn’t convert a single third down. Okay, the Patriots suck, but that is still a good stat for the defense.

#1 x 1000% the fact it worked so well then we just didn’t run it again is just another idiotic OC move that makes no sense! Quick slants and crossing should be a staple with our weapons!

#8 - not so sure if we win out pretty solid shot we win division Seattle is gonna lose maybe out of Geno is not available and have tough schedule. If we can win out not likely but we definitely control our own destiny imo.

Harrison ran more slants, but Kyler didn't throw them because Harrison wasn't open. Same thing as last week.

I haven't watched tape but we ran it once to perfection. I doubt the Pats completely locked it down for the rest of the game. I just don't think we made the effort. I still feel like they under utilize MHJ. Those two throws to the end zone are probably TD's against most CB's. Gonzales had good coverage but one was at least questionable PI in my opinion. They need to keep feeding him the ball. Meanwhile, Nabers had 14 targets in week 15 for the G-men.

I’ll take the optimistic view!
If the Cardinals can beat the Rams then they have a realistic shot at the Division title. The Panthers and 49ers are both beatable, so 10-7 with a 4-2 division record is quite possible.
Seattle will lose to Minnesota and their last game against the Rams will be a toss up.

1. I believe the first two passes went to MJH. After that…..
3. We have a nice array of db’s
5. How can you not love Budda?
6. This is the kind of thing we remember. There are bad picks. Then there are stupid picks. The stupid ones shouldn’t happen in year 6.
7. Browning has been a tremendous pick-up. Two thimbs up MO!
8. Not being fooled about the Rams and Seahawks. However, let’s do our job and let the chips fall where they may.
Love your thought posts!

#1 is wrong. They did run the play again. In fact the color guy literally commented on it being swallowed after the first one.

I thought they got one when Melton missed the tackle and then the RB plowed over White? Or was that not 3rd down?

Kyler has lots of warts and my patience is running out, but EVERY QB both good and bad make stupid bonehead throws.

1. Agree. We keep saying we need to find more ways to get the ball to MHJ. The slant was solid and if it was taken away- what is next Drew? WR screen, quick outs, end around, what?

5. Agree. Budda and Conner (along with Kyzir) are great foundational leaders for the team. We need better players and you can't get better by letting go of one of your best.

8. Agree. We are performing above expectations IMO and on the right path with a roster that is not great. My expectations are on next year (year 3)...Lions model. That being said - I want us to finish strong this year and win as many as possible.

The announcer reminded us that Kyler tore his ACL vs the Patriots last year. Felt like you could see his hesitation on some of his runs...he didn't try to juke as much as her normally does. Had to be on his mind.

This was a big improvement

Especially since we'd routinely been leaving the opposition's No 1 receiver wide open beyond the sticks on pivotal 3rd down plays in the previous weeks

And even though that is partly because they have no one else to throw to, BQF, it also shows that they have been trying hard to get him going. I mean, I understand that especially Connor and McBride also need their targets, but I wish they would still do more to make Harrison a bigger part of the offense. Murray certainly is part-responsible, but I blame Petzing more.

There is the problem, CC. I don’t trust Murray to make things happen in a tough and tense situation as that one game will be. I even doubt that he can lead the team past a desperate Niners-team. I don’t know if I am being a bit too negative toward Murray, but I just don’t trust him.

That'll be the irony; we catch the Rams and Seahawks because they are both overrated and KM stops turning the football over.

It's not so much the bone headed throw it was the situation. I believe we had a two score lead and the defense playing great (just made a 4th stop), a punt is a good thing there, where as a turnover is a killer.

The problem is that the best QBs make enough great plays on a consistent basis, year in, year out, that you can forgive the occasional bonehead throws/plays.

Kyler doesn’t and that’s why his mind-numbing mistakes stand out so much more… and hurt the team more than the greats who make a mistake.

I think the Cards have a 13% chance of the postseason. Not great of course but at least they are still mathematically alive in mid December. Progress!

If you look at guys like Hurts and Herbert with their new schemes they also are not putting up eye-popping numbers. The plan is not for Kyler to be throwing it 35-40 times a game like they were for Kliff so not expecting those sorts of performances anymore.

But the bonehead interceptions are a killer. Just can’t have them in today’s NFL. Punt the ball and make them go 70 yards.

I think Kyler has been ill and not feeling well for this game. It’s likely his energy level was low compared to his normal.

He was definitely sick they told us that before the game started. That the sideline reporter said when she talked to Murray he told her not to get too close because he didn't want to get her sick. He had a cold or sinus thing.

It's why I assumed he wouldn't run much in the game. I've had a sinus thing for more than a week now and unless I'm being chased I'm not running anywhere
