Sorry, but the offense has gotten the lion's share of resources recently. They will simply have to make do, especially when we will only have Kyler Murray at QB next season. You go heavy defense and pray the D keeps the team in the game. We looked at this offense in the offseason as one that would control the ball and bail out the D. Despite much better offensive personnel, it has been the opposite. Go defense, or go home, Monti.
This 100%. Maybe add a “fast” wr to remove one more excuse for Kyler.
Imagine this defense if we had Crosby, Garrett or Parsons.

Seems the most likely scenario, but there’s money to do both. They have to add speed at WR. They must add at least one productive guard.

I understand your point, but if you look at the 2025 FA market...there isn't a ton to spend money on. This is one of the things about FA. Sometimes what it offers is not your primary needs. Same with the draft.

There is money to do both, but in what world would we expect Monti to actually spend that much money? He's either conservative to a fault or handcuffed by Dollar Bill's boy. I know which I favor.

So I'm reading we should have spent more last offseason when there were better fits?

lol...probably, yes. Especially at EDGE. A lot can happen between now and the new year but right now this is probably what we are looking at.

IDL
Osa Odighizuwa (I would say he is the best pass rusher interior player)
Levi Onwuzurike

EDGE
Josh Sweat
Khalil Mack

Those are probably the best players at DL and EDGE in the upcoming FA class.

I honestly don't see the point of wasting more resources on our skill players. Our offense is so conservative, they have a hard time getting a 'generational talent' in MHJ involved.

Unless we change coordinators or put quite a few more wrinkles in our offense, I'm spending heavy on defense. A coordinator who is definitely overachieving with the resources given. I want to keep investing in overachievers.

I would like to be wrong about this: I agree with those that think the Cardinals could use at least one speed receiver. But that is not the sole issue with Cardinals lack of deep threats!

I would like to see a chart of every Murray pass attempt/completion this season, because I suspect that a secondary reason that we don't see more deep completions is that Murray can not locate (visually) the deep middle receivers. Seems whenever Murray does throw deep it is outside the hashes. Make it much easier the defensive backs when they know that they really needn't defend the deep middle.

Trey McBride has developed into an outstanding weapon; yet the vast majority of his catches are on digs and slants with a few wheel routes. Why does the offense never call for McBride to be running deep middle seam routes?

Here’s an odd thought. If a miracle happens and the Cards make the playoffs, they will be the worst record in. There’s a rumor the Dolphins will cut Campbell so he can join a playoff team. The Cards inquired about Campbell earlier in the season. Before this release I’m certain he would advise the Cards if he is willing to play for them. If he says no and they still commit to claiming him, he simply asks the Fins to delay cutting him. There’s no hurry. However, if willing and things fall right the fans could still see Campbell in a Cards’ uniform.

I remember the Changers claiming Deion Sanders from the Ravens under similar circumstances to keep another team (the Steelers? The Raiders?) from getting him.

Edit: the Washington team waved him, the Chargers claimed him to keep him off the Ravens. The Ravens signed him the following offseason.
