Even before the Ryland miss against Seattle at SFS, his kicks haven't looked that good, it looks like they're going through at an angle. Prater doesn't really worry me when he kicks.

My concern with Ryland continues to be blocked kicks. His first game they blocked one and he had the same issue when he got drafted. If you pay attention it seems like half his kicks are almost blocked, I don't know if he kicks low or just takes longer but I never got the impression with Prater that I do with Ryland. That said, we need a younger kicker so I hope Ryland wins the job.

That said if game 17 we need a game winning FG to make the playoffs, I would feel more confident in Prater making it than Ryland

If there's a chance to win the Division and go to the playoffs involving a kick; I'd probably trust Prater more. That being said, both kickers have had winning kicks. Prater has done it for a while and he gets paid for it. It's always nerve racking to rock the boat. The Cards should know when that time is; if that time ever comes.

That first kick of his was low as hell. I remember thinking my old fat ass could have gotten a hand on it..it was only about 8 feet high when it got to the line. since then he has gotten better lift on the ball...I was concerned about longer kicks because kickers try to drive it which causes lower trajectory..but he has been fine since that first one.
