I don't care he took them, he helped bring baseball back and made it fun. Just wish he has owned up to it a lot sooner.

Sammy Sosa issued a statement apologizing for his alleged use of performance-enhancing drugs on Thursday, more than a quarter-century after smashing Major League Baseball's home run record.

"There were times I did whatever I could to recover from injuries in an effort to keep my strength up to perform over 162 games," Sosa said in a statement.

"I never broke any laws, but in hindsight I made mistakes and I apologize.”

Yep I no longer care about any of it. Bonds, McGwire, Sosa...

It was an era and in that era many were doing it so just put them in as part of that era.

Don't even get me started on Pete Rose after the Ohtani nonsense.

100% agree on Pete

Now that he is dead, will the BBWA pull their heads out of their behinds and vote him in the HOF?

Pete Rose should be in the Hall of Fame. So should Sammy Sosa, Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, and Mark McGuire. One of my last baseball memories is Sosa running with the American Flag after 9/11. And I will always view Jose Canseco for one of my best baseball memories when he had a fly ball hit him in the head and bounce over the wall for a home run. he's not a hall of famer though. although that ball deserves to be in the HOF.

Sosa is a showboating "me" guy. Cheated then lied to everyone about it, including the US Congress. ( forgot how to speak English as well )

Allegedly beat his now ex-wife with a rum bottle

Got caught on national TV with a corked bat, then lied said he mistook it for his batting practice bat. ( who did batting practice with a corked bat?)

Finally he walked out on his team early in the last game in 2004. Literally just left. Kerry Wood after the game took a bat and destroyed sammy's boombox in an almost ceremonious closure to the end of one of sports biggest narcissist.

that aside it's baseball, not the presidency. he should be in the hall of fame based on his play on the field.

never said he didnt belong in the hall, i agree that he does. I just whole story needs to be told so that future generations can learn how to NOT carry yourself in the game of baseball.

all of these guys stories outside of baseball need to be told. One's reputation for being great at their day job doesn't give them the right to be a poor human being.

No lies are being told. His issues were never actually on the field, aside from the cork.

But he still helped saved baseball and I won't ever chastise his for his steroids use. But I will for his lying about it.
