Yet they gave up over 30 points yesterday & it's our offense that is blamed for losing even though they scored 30.

The offense gets so much flack because they have actual talent on that side of the ball.

The defense has very little in the front 7. Very free of our guys if any would start for other teams.

You are correct though in blaming the D for yesterday’s loss. The Panthers have scored 30 twice this season and yesterday was one of those. JG should be very worried about if he has the right coordinators under him.

I believe Rallis is the guy for our D. We just need better talent on the D-Line & outside pass rush.

1) Fire Petzing and get an OC that will design an offense that suits Murray.
2) Make edge rushers and DL a priority (draft/free agency)
3) O Linemen
4) Trade for a top WR
I am with this except number 4. MHJ is not being used correctly, and although slow he can be a Fitz type receiver. I really think Petzing is the main problem with the offense.

Look at the season and not one game. If you don’t believe the defense has over performed and the offense has drastically under performed then I don’t know what to tell you.
You forget scoring just 6,7, 13 and 14 points?
You want to pin this game on the defense so be it. But remember the defense gave the ball back to the offense THREE times in the 4th quarter with a chance to win the game.

No one cares about over performing in games that we should win.

The defense has been horrendous after the bye they let the Panthers walk all over them in a game that matter against a terrible team.

Go back in the closet with your little buddy and conjure up a few more excuse for your little buddy.

I think everyone here is overreacting.

I’m sure MB will call for a meeting today, starting it off with “why the hell is this team 7-8 right now?,” followed by insisting they break the game film down for him.

He’ll then work with his PR department to begin laying the groundwork down for the mid-January press release declaring “changes will be made,” how he won’t tolerate mediocrity, and how he expects to win games.

Then the organization will be in rinse/repeat mode come early February.

We don’t really do articles any more. That said, I’m readying a series of in depth posts so we can examine the various elements of what the Cards have and what the Cards need. I hope it spurs much creative thinking.
Can’t wait. I’m honestly feeling despair. I’m 71 and have given up on seeing a Super Bowl. The hopes of seeing a playoff game are fading fast.

Slanidrac16, I have long known when the Cardinals will win the Super Bowl. It will be the year after I die.

I'm talking about yesterday's game. We didn't lose because of the offense. The D has been overperforming all year with the talent they have. Yesterday's loss wasn't on the offense. It was on the D.

If you give your Qb the ball ( 3 times) with a chance to win it and you don’t, your offense has failed.
There are many games where a team wins allowing 30 points. We can’t .
The Panthers defense have given up 30 points or more 7 times this year.
You win and lose as a team. I get that.

But this offense has been a let down all year. We believed the offense was going to have to carry this team this year and the simply haven’t. Maybe if they had yesterdays game wouldn’t have meant that much because we could have won 2 or 3 games earlier in the season.

But god ****** cardncubfan Murray and the offense had three chances yesterday to, for once, bail out the defense!

Just one time in Dec I wish Murray would pay me off for all my loyalty and support!

Instead he throws literally one of the worst interceptions of his six year career with McBride wide open on the sideline!

Some people have posted that, or that it will be just as bad in 2026, but I don't believe that's accurate.

Per OTC, if cut before 1 June 2025, Murray carries a dead cap charge of $58.5M, and a net cap cost of $15.2M. It's quite possible to eat that amount and still field a viable roster, but given that it's Bidwill's team, it's much more realistic to envision Murray being cut before 1 June 2026, when his dead cap charge would be "only" $17.9M, and there would be a net savings of $35.3M.

Oddly, Murray's cap charge this year is $49.1M, but in 2025 it dips to "only" $43.3M, before rising again in 2026 to $53.3M.
There’s no truth to more savings in 2026 if cut before 2025?

Just a thought, crimson: save your loyalty and support for your family, friends, and coworkers. People who have either earned it, or whom should get it unconditionally (family). Don’t waste it on a multimillionaire athlete who couldn’t care less about it and has zero loyalty to you.

Both things can be true.

Agree.

Our boy is going to get another shot next year with an even better, more experienced team and coaches around him.

And I still believe K1 has the innate talent, work ethic and discipline to succeed man. I really do. But he needs to do some soul searching in the offseason. He's got to be better in the clutch 602.

Appreciate you and hope you and the fam are well man, and that you have a great holiday season! :)

The work ethic stuff was always clickbait. Kyler’s personality rubbed people the wrong way but the insiders never questioned his motivation.

The problem is that he physically hasn’t been able to hold up. Legs are slowing down and he’s throwing 87mph fastballs. The guy just doesn’t have a counterpunch without the physical gifts.

Sage words my friend, ty. The entire Murray saga has been really unique for me in terms of my lifelong Cardinals fandom. Skewed it in some weird ways.

But anyway.

Wishing you and your fam the very best this holiday season ouchie. Take care man! :)

The answer is honestly to dump Kyler, sign Darnold, and continue upgrading the roster. There is no reason to believe Darnold can't at least match Kyler's production this year. His contract is probably 3yrs, 120 mil (max). Maybe you can trade Kyler somewhere which would ease the contract sting.

Of the options that Darnold would have if he hit FA, have to think the Cardinals look like one of the more competitive opportunities. if the Cardinals decide to draft a QB in the near future, they have the cap space to move n from Darnold.

I co-sign this plan. Trade Kyler and get something for him--I'm looking at you, Vegas!--go D heavy in the draft and use FA to bolster your D moves and get some speed at WR, as well as stabilize the line. I see no reason why all of that can't happen. No guarantees it would all work out, but you have to at least try to improve.

In terms of roster upgrades...there aren't as many spots as you would think.

DL and EDGE are 1 and 1. Both need a vet FA and high draft pick.

OL is next. This is just more about upgrading parts where you can.

Speed at WR. WR depth. Just need a room with a bit more speed and talent.

A punt returner.

Outside of this, it is just adding depth. The secondary is fine. Depth at S. ILB just needs some young depth. RB is good. TE is good.
