From PFF: https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-ranking-all-32-nfl-teams-by-offseason-assets-2025

"Teams starting from a solid foundation with room to improve include the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers. Midseason, it appeared these two teams would battle for the NFC West crown. However, the 49ers faltered down the stretch due to injuries, while the Cardinals lost all three of their second-half matchups against the Rams and Seahawks, derailing their division title aspirations.

Despite this, the Cardinals — who led the NFC West in point differential — are in a significantly better spot than they were a year ago and rank in the top 10 in offseason assets. Both teams are well-positioned to contend for the division again next season."

I read that yesterday and the headline, or the actual article, makes no sense.

What signs? The article says if he's cut he has a $13m dead cap and at best (but likely not) might save $3m.

That's not a sign, if that's a sign then everyone is getting cut. You don't cut highly paid FA signings a year in without a significant cap saving. Especially one that played well when available, and when your swing backup might not return.

Dumb article.

Marvin Harrison Jr. was credited with 1 drop during his rookie season and had 1 tackle. Arizona Cardinals legend Larry Fitzgerald still owns the absurd WR stat of more career tackles than drops.
1 drop is beyond ridiculous. He had many more then one. Whomever is in charge of keeping/determining that stat should be fired.

Just keep in mind that this is probably a small group of people that do this for the league so his 1 drop should put other WRs in similar perspective.

I think he’s referring, without citing, a rumor that’s circling. The injury is so bad Williams may not be ready to play at the season’s start. Some say he may never be effective again. None of this is official and I can get no reliable info on a recovery timetable. That’s a little strange.

Issues relating to the knee caps are next good. I think he's done.

Monti Ossenfort traded down from 35 to 43 in the second round of last year’s draft. Two Defensive Rookie of the Year finalists — Rams DL Braden Fiske and Eagles CB Cooper DeJean — went between those picks. Cards ended up with Max Melton, Tip Reiman and Tejhuan Palmer.

I'm still surprised we passed on DeJean. I think most wanted him there.
