The actor, known for playing a young Clark Kent on the Superman prequel series, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in Northern California over the weekend, according to booking information reviewed by Entertainment Weekly.
Welling, 47, was taken into police custody just after midnight Sunday morning at an Arby's in the small town of Yreka, which is just south of the Oregon border. He was charged with violating California Vehicle Code (CVC) 23152, which means his blood alcohol level exceeded the legal limit of 0.08 percent.
Representatives for Welling didn't respond to EW's requests for comment.
