Exactly. As a depth rotational guy ONLY. He didn't exactly light the world on fire, but he's okay.
Imo Browning is a solid "other side" pass rusher.
With pressure across from him and some in the middle he can get you 8-10 sacks a season.
He just ain't a star ca.iber guy that's gonna rack up stats alone

The most charitable argument is that we could bring a handful of these guys to camp in Beej, Browning, and a draft pick. You play the hot hand/work matchups during the season and hope someone makes The Leap.

This 100%. Need much improvement pushing the pocket straight back first and foremost. Collapsing the middle will automatically improve our edge guys and everyone in the back end

Which is how I think the Cards and Monti go about things. We are not getting a big name pass rusher in free agency. As far as I can tell, they seem to like Browning and probably do think he can make a jump in production next year. Will he? Hell if I know. Just seems like the type of guy they will resign when the word is we are going to try and keep a lot of our free agents.

IMO we have not seen that yet.

I would like Browning and/or Gardeck back, but as the 3rd rusher in rotation.

I personally think Gardeck has shown much more and he definitely has from a production POV. But would be happy with either.

1/2 string A FA and/or a rookie
2/3 string BJ
3/4 string Gardeck
4/5 steing Thomas

Gardeck will be 31 when the season starts and is coming off his 2nd ACL injury. Not sure I want him back for much more than vet min with incentives.

If Gardeck plays a major role in this teams defense...... its gonna be a bad year
Define "major role". I think we know that DG isn't going to be key to the pass rush, but personally I'm excited for his return. If only to provide a spark and some leadership. I definitely would consider myself a fan of the dude whatever that's worth.

Okay weapon but has struggled throughout his career to close the deal. This type of rusher was far more effective before the advent of highly mobile QBs. I’d re-sign him, but he needs to be part of a rush package.

Currently, the #AZCardinals are one of six teams in the league to have 60+ players signed to their roster according to OverTheCap. Of those teams, AZ has the highest amount of effective cap at $74.5 M (3rd overall in NFL). Next closest team has $45 M. It's go-time for Monti.

Monti has indeed removed the Cardinals from the dead money coffin.
