The first 2025 off-season NFL trade: San Francisco has agreed to send standout wide receiver Deebo Samuel to the Washington Commanders in exchange for a fifth-round pick, sources tell ESPN. Like any trade agreed to now, it cannot be processed until the new league year begins Wednesday, March 12.

A little surprised that the 49ers were able to get a fifth for Deebo given the (apparent) lack of other suitors, sheer number of vet WRs hitting the market, and the writing on the wall that they were moving on one way or another. But like the fit on the field for the Commanders!

I honestly think he might have been the slowest WR in the league last year. He was fat and out of shape and a total waste on the field.
And, yes, he was on my fantasy team.

I am not a Deebo fan but he does compliment the Washington offense pretty well.
They get a #2 WR for $17M with only this year left on contract (49ers ate $30M).

Interesting note - read where the 49ers wanted Jonathan Allen in return (who is also on the trading block).
