I agree. I think Bud's response is reasonable. I am sorry, but one quarter doesn't earn anyone a starting spot. As long as he lets him into the rotation, I'll be happy.

If he is a DNP vs Denver then I'll be upset and jump on the "Fire Bud" bandwagon but until that happens, I'll wait until we see more. Collin earned a look, he needs to seize that opportunity.

Did you listen to the clip? He fluffed up Collin quite a bit prior that and laughed with reporters also because it was a step too far. He said he'd look for him in the future and work him into games. It would send the wrong message if a starting job came that easy. That says what Royce, Grayson, and others did in that comeback meant nothing. It's a team game and everyone needs to prove their worth when given the minutes to keep getting those minutes. As they continue showcasing their talents then more minutes and bigger roles should come but 1 game, which is what we saw, is not worth that drastic of a leap. G-League to starting 5 because of a great quarter is too much.

Yes, I viewed the video clips. I posted two of them.

Bud is not in position to be laughing off legitimate questions. Him laughing it off is what bothered me the most.

He should have left the matter open. Even Monte Morris is out for the Nuggets game and Bradley Beal is questionable.

Maybe Bud should have played Gillespie more than 13 games this season to better evaluate him. The future is now.

I know you posted them but i wasn't sure if you watched yet or just read the summary included. You've been high on Gillepsie since preseason, at least, so I get your perspective. Bud is in an uneviable position right now where he needs to look to the future while also trying to salvage what's left of the season. He can't afford to look beyond this season since there's a very real chance he won't be part of the organization. I know you don't want to see us drive away any youth that's here either. We'll see what happens. I'm not sure how it'll play out but hopefully we have a team worth rooting for next year because I've essentially given up on this season.

From my perspective, our discussion isn't about whether Gillespie should start, it's about Bud laughing and saying no to this option. I wasn't expecting him to start, but it wouldn't have been the worst decision in the world, either.

The Suns are in the midst of being eliminated from the play-in. Bud shouldn't find any part of this funny.

Given the trajectory of this team the last few months, I don't see how you cannot give Gillespie an honest look in the rotation.

What do you have to lose? Loyalty to some players who's poor performance will cost you your job in the near future?

You know you can lose without him... why not see how things go with him?

Bud likes to get guys minutes versus their former teams. Even without the Clippers heroics, I would say Gillespie was going to get some minutes versus Denver.

A shot in the rotation? Yes. The starting spot? People are way overboard on the reaction including the press. It was one freaking quarter. I don't put anything negative on Bud's reaction at all here. He wasn't laughing at Collin. He was laughing at the absurd overreaction.

Some people have been watching Gillespie all the way back to his days with Villanova.

I'm glad Bud, reporters and some of the fans have finally discovered him.
