I think Golden may be an option.
its tempting, but

I keep thinking about how the Eagles had Sweat and Reddick -- and went ahead and took Nolan Smith.

I think either a top notch OT or an edge would pay dividends for years down the road. We still dont really know if BJ Ojulari can play

I think you are dead center… OT or edge but a longterm solution at DT has to be in play.

My first round rules
1-No OG
2-No ILB
3-No S
4-Has to play in the 2 min
5-Has to play in base and sub
6-If TE needs to be a 1 or 2 receiving option in offense and play 70%+ snaps
7-If RB, needs to play 3rd down, 2 min, goal line, and 65%+ snaps

If there is no prospect available that meets this list, trade down.

I think the Campbell acquisition likely means anything but DT could be the play. As such I think this further enhances the likelihood of trading down. Unless they find a player available at 16 who sits clear of the pack on their board moving down several places makes good sense. They could add depth at one of their thinner positions. So get prepared to be patient on draft day.

Were gonna go BPA...and that is exactly what we should do. I wouldnt mind O-Line...I think that is as much of a "future proofing" move as taking a Dlineman. We have to be able to run the ball or we are cooked.

monti doing pre draft yoga for max flexibility - he can go in any direction and he's low key bragging about it - he was low key bragging about the cc signing before the news dropped

he can go bpa - he can trade up - if tackle and secondary are gone he might be trading back - we know he wants a bruiser guard

I thought we had bruiser type guards that were good on the run. Supposedly not so good at pass blocking?

Personally, I'd prefer a move up if someone drops. We have plenty of underbelly - we need potential stars.

I think this is more likely the case. It seems like Monti's list for 16 is fairly small, and he will be looking to move. I do think a trade up could be an option which I think you have mentioned before.

Who would qualify here? Graham? Membou?

I don't see the Cardinals moving up in the 1st round. They are much more likely moving back in the 1st and acquiring additional picks. Then I could see them moving up in the 2nd possibly if there is someone that they really like.

I suppose, but to what end? They already have a ton of young players. Acquiring another 7+ rookie class seems like overkill.

but how many of the 7 are going to both stay healthy and pan out? it is a numbers game imo unless we're talking about passing up on top shelf talent - top shelf ends around pick 12 tho

I've seen talk of Monti trading back, but he's in the best position he's ever been in to trade up too.

We already have a tonne of young players on the roster. There are not a whole bunch of obvious roster spaces available. Maybe they love Membou. Maybe they love Will Campbell (just because mocks have him falling doesn't mean that's real). Maybe they love T-Mac.

I think Monti would be fine coming out of the draft with 4 players he loves rather than a longer list of guys he likes.

I think the odds for most teams are better to move down than move up but a lot factors into a move.

1 - How many teams are looking to move down.

2 - How many teams are looking to move up.

If more teams teams want to move down than move up, this generally makes trading down more difficult, and drives the price of moving up down as well.
