He was always my favorite Batman and never received his flowers for that role. The casting of Batman Forever was second to none. The script and direction is another story.

That helped broaden my film horizon and I dug into some of his older flicks since that came out in my early teens so while I grew older I was going backwards in his cinematography. I wouldn't have appreciated the Doors as much as I did if it wasn't his portrayal of Jim Morrison also.

He was one of those rare actors who if you knew he was in a film then you knew you wouldn't be wasting your time watching it. An absolute legend. Sad he died relatively young but he most definitely lived a full life from all accounts.

Why Oaken, what an ugly thing to say. I abhor ugliness. Does this mean we're not friends anymore? You know Oaken, if I thought your weren't my friend, I just don't think i could bear it.

:D ;)
I'm just a huge fan of Quaids portrayal of Doc Holiday.
Truth is, I even prefer "Wyatt Earp" to "Tombstone"

It's an incredible movie but for some reason, I don't ever think of it as a Val Kilmer film. I've only watched it once though which is rare for me when it comes to movies that I found so riveting. But it's a tough re-watch for someone like me that prefers happy endings. Which, as I recall, didn't happen for any of them although I guess if you were rooting for Pacino you might feel differently. Even Val's character, though he survives, does so at the cost of losing his family.

Dude… Quaid sucked donkey dish as Earp and is widely known as a massive alky inside hollyweird.

Heat was a big deal because it was De Niro and Pacino for the first time since The Godfather with Kilmer coming off Batman and Mann coming off Mohicans. Definitely a super team at the time.

Where there's the problem.
He wasn't earp.
Rewatch it with the knowledge that he's portraying Doc Holiday and you'll see he did a marvelous job.

So he's a drunk. Okay... the rest of them are coked out child molestors...well, except for the rapers.. I'm fine with a drunk
