1st wave of Free Agency (most likely) done - now what?

My bad. He transfered from liberty to Louisville. Still stand by my statement. You Cannot expect a late rounder to be NFL ready by Day 1

1st wave of Free Agency (most likely) done - now what?

I disagree. He came from Liberty College and drafted in the 6th round. Steep learning curve and I do not expect a player like that to be able to produce from day 1. I like the potential shown and think he could easily develop into a solid #3 CB

1st wave of Free Agency (most likely) done - now what?

I think based on what you expect. No one is expecting a Roquan Smith. But he was a very good coverage LB playing about 50% of snaps on a GOOD defense (Pats D was #7 in the league). He fits the biggest weakness of the entire team last year well.

1st wave of Free Agency (most likely) done - now what?

Well, I cannot answer to what Monti qualifies of spending. Maybe he considers what already has been done as spending? There is about 18M to spend after the rookie pool. He could sign Clowney and 3-4 back-ups post draft. Would two starting DTs, a #2 CB, a starting LT and a starting edge rusher...

1st wave of Free Agency (most likely) done - now what?

I mean that 6th round rookie CB that was supposed to play no role and ended up starting and playing decent for a starter in 4-5 games and looked decent playing in a reduced role later in the season. But from what you write, you can appearently only should measured a rookie 6th rounder by his...

1st wave of Free Agency (most likely) done - now what?

But doesn't change the fact that he has started a lot of games. And, duh! He has change to a 3rd down LB during his career... He only plays about 50% of the snaps and not listed as a starter in that role.

1st wave of Free Agency (most likely) done - now what?

The Cardinals Free Agency signings after this first week hasn't exactly been a splash, but it has been exactly what I expected. I think Monti's vision/approach is clear. The draft is the primary source of star quality. Be VERY selective in who you want to give big money in Free Agency and then...

2024 All of the Cardinals off season signings, so far

Kyler for the full year would have resulted in 6-7 wins IMO. These signing are not spectacular, but upgrades. A lot of high drat picks to add depth. I think objectively this could result in a 8-10 win team, but probably on the lower end given the strength of the division

So is this it? We are not going to do anything to help this awful offense?

This draft is rated as one of the best in recent memory and deepest at the 4 positions of greatest need. The team has 3 picks in the too 35 picks. Those three picks Will be used on either WR, OL, DT Or CB. Because the draft is so deep at those positions, the player at #35 at Any of those...

Matt Leinart on how the coaching change ruined him.

Jesus. What a cry baby… Leinart did the exact same as so Many other athletes Or people in any other competitive enviroment have done. Leinart was top talent that excelled at the High-School and University level on his talent alone. He never realized that the NFL was a different level of...

Cardinals' Free Agency Day One grade

This. That is what I like of all the signings. No pro-bowlers, just really solid depth in the rotation. Look at DT. Collier, Stille, Fotu, Jones and Nichols. Solid 5 man rotation AND a potential superstar DT can still be added with the 2nd or 3rd pick in the draft. NOTE. Just realized Fotu is...

    Possible trade with Giants

Giants traded #39, so only #47 is available. Makes it easy. Take MHJ if he is there. If he is not - absolute go. Draft Alt Or one of the Two other WR and Pick up a 2nd that Can be used as potential leverage to move in the draft. #27&#47 gets into the 15-20 range #35&#47 gets into the 19-24 range

Cardinals' Free Agency Day One grade

I really like the signings so far. It fits in the plan, But Nothing spectacular, so I gave it a B. Burting is a #2 CB that blends in with our Young CB group that has shown talent. Colon brings stability as a fringe starter at weakest position on offense. He played better at the end of the...

Future of Hollywood Brown as a Cardinal

I think it's same to assume that he will take a 1-year deal - in AZ or elsewhere. Terrible year for him to become a FA. I suspect he will command a huge deal, be unable to get it and a bit longer into Free Agency sign a 1- year deal. I have no problem with him re-signing for a one year...

2024 Salary Cap rises $31 Million

This! Plug 1-3 starter holes. Try to land a Young superstar if posible (CB Johnson Or DL Madubuike). Otherwise target solid starters to fill glarring gaps. Build the starpower through the draft Where the teams has the most High picks. Any left over money - extend 2025 FA agents that you...

You clearly do not understand statistics with that comment. There Can be outlier is High drafted players being busts and 5th rounders being pro-bowlers. It Doesn’t change the Fact that it’s statistical proven that higher draft picks produce better especially on those 4 positions. But the...

    2024 Texans pick watch thread

Could, would, should.... Data backs up the opposite. PFF has made a statistical calculation on correlation between draft status and production. 4 positions stand out. QB, Edge, OT and WR. So data shows that the higher the pick, the better the player for especially those 4 positions
