Oh, I certainly agree, gmabel. I just think that a (arguably) future Hall of Famer has a lot of credit in the back. I would also keep Ryland, though. Did you see how much air was under the 57-yard field goal? That would easily have been good enough for ten yards further out.

GC, you bring up a great point, but I have some thoughts on it. First, I don’t like to make excuses for coaches and teams. The guys he deploys are NFL players. No, they are not as good as some others, but they can still be expected to be skilled. And I actually think most of them are. I think...

As long as it gives minimal disruption to the group I certainly agree. Do you think he will get the job over Hernandez or Evan Brown? Adams is a natural left guard, but definitely he can also play to the right.

And that is obviously a good stat, but every game Murray has done his Houdini-thing to avoid at least two-three sacks. I think that is pretty obvious.

1 – The best thing about the game was to see the connection Murray-to-Harrison, but really, it was almost more relief than joy. I pray they can keep it up and build on it. 2 – First time in three seasons (more than 1000 days) that the Cardinals win two in a row. 3 – Don’t trade Budda Baker...

Sure, it is actually very impressive. They are the sixth least penalized team and have an average of five penalties per game. But if you take the average without the Green Bay game, and put the average from the other games into that game, they would be the least penalized team by a decent...

Yes, but my argument was not about if he was qualified. It was that he might have indicated that Bidwill was not willing to pay enough, and that could indicate that many fans are right when they argue that Bidwill is holding the team back in that regard.

Sure, Harry, I agree. I am not giving up on him. I must admit that I did get some flashbacks to Isaiah Simmons getting torched against the Niners, but in reality, he is not the first rookie to be exposed, and he would not be the first one to come back from it to play well. Yes, I also agree...

I think you are exactly right, Slanidrac. I see a lot of arguing that the Cards should sign big players to use some of all the cap space available. Well, the salary cap doesn’t matter. Cash is king. It is not about how to account for the contract money, but rather about how much Michael Bidwill...

Sorry for not doing this column last week. I had too many other things to take care of. I thought I would include 15 thoughts this week instead. ------------------- 1 – What a great game! Hard, tough, fighting for every yard. Instead of the high octane-pass happy-nonsense where both teams have...

    Go after Maxx Crosby?

Buying Simmons would be a tremendous transfer (obviously depending on the prize). He could do wonders for the defensive line. Would be on the level of buying Chandler Jones back then, if not bigger. Would surprise me if Ossenfort do something like that, though. It is going to cost.

    Trade Targets

I would go a long way in buying a quality edge rusher. The season is far from over yet, and the division could be winnable. I am looking at teams that are not going anywhere anyway. Harold Landry from Ossenfort's former Titans. Trey Hendrickson from the Bengals. And obviously Reddick, even...

I was excited too, and after all, he can still turn it around. He was very good for the Bucs, even though it was never as a #1. Gannon has the history of DB coach, so I still trust that he knows what he is doing with that unit. Personally, I would like Melton to get snaps from Starling Thomas...

    10 thoughts - Niners game

Really? I think he played well. Now, I agree on the rest of the season, but I thought this was a step forward for him. Having said that, they sorely miss a great cornerback. I actually think it is like with the defensive line that the current players are good players, but they are not good...

I understand your point, TR, but I doubt that it will be a priority. They certainly have big hopes for Benson, even if he never plays great this season, and I also believe they are truly high on Demarcado. I personally like Michael Carter a lot, but unfortunately, I am obviously a bigger fan of...

    10 thoughts - Niners game

Sometimes I watch the All 22 coaches’ film, that DAZN make available through their app. I don’t always do it, but when one player catches my attention during the normal TV broadcast, I often take some time to focus a little more deeply on the said player. Yes, I actually had written a thought...

    10 thoughts - Niners game

Well, that’s because they did play more snaps. :)DTD was up to 34.4% of all snaps (his highest was 14.4% in week 2), and Melton played 50% (his highest was 48.1 on week 2), and I agree that they held up fine. Especially Melton impressed me several times. I think that good players find a way to...

    10 thoughts - Niners game

Yes, it was, but do you think he can keep it up? It scares me with a right side of the line with only backups.

    10 thoughts - Niners game

Well, they stopped the Niners four times in the red zone. No, I kind of agree with you that they are rotation players, but that was also my point. That they need one or two great players around them, so that they could take advantage of the opportunities it would give them that the offense has...

    10 thoughts - Niners game

1 – On Murray’s rushing TD, that is the fastest run by a quarterback in the last eight years. 2 – The d-line is actually playing better than expected. L. J. Collier, Dante Still, Bilal Nichols, Roy Lopez. They are good players. It’s just that none of them are so good that they change offensive...

Yeah, I agree, PJ1. Also because I had no feeling that Washington would not score pretty much on every drive, right?

    10 thoughts - Commanders game

Absolutely yes, I am pulling for him as well. It is the step back that bothers me. I thought he was making good progress last season, and his start to this season was even more promising. Of course you are right that the season is not lost yet, but he shouldn’t be that unstable. He shouldn’t...

    10 thoughts - Commanders game

I completely agree with your thoughts on Bidwill, but the point is that he would actually save money, if Murray was traded before next season. It would affect the salary cap negatively, but it would cost Bidwill about 12 million less than if they keep Murray. That is exactly where I am as well...
