    Gandhi mock draft

I certainly hope you are right, Oaken. That would be fantastic. I am just not as optimistic myself. Sure there are often growing pains for rookies, but Gladney was clearly outplayed by another rookie (Cameron Dantzler) in his first year, and before he got kicked out of the team he was expected...

    Gandhi mock draft

Sadly, I think you are right. I don't know, Slanidrac. I have a lot of trust in Peter Schrager's view (he predicted the last three first round picks for the Cards), and he says that he cannot see the Cards going defense again.

    Gandhi mock draft

I agree, PA, but two things: no, but I did not necessarily mean the most expensive free agents. Just at all. I mean, I actually have some hopes for Will Hernandez, but Jeff Gladney looks like a backup signing to me. The second things is that, yes, I would also always take the best player at a...

    Gandhi mock draft

Az, I completely agree with you. I would be very surprised if Williams is on the board come the Cards' pick.

    Gandhi mock draft

I agree. I don't know if the decision makers have underestimated the issues at pass rush, left tackle, potentially right guard, wide receiver, and even cornerback, but it surprises me a lot that they have not even tried to do something about it in free agency. In my opinion it forces them to...

    Gandhi mock draft

Bump, since it is obviously more relevant than ever. I have come to the conclusion that I should have drafted Sam Williams in the second, and Marquis Hayes in the third instead. However, I stand by all the points and views.

    Laugh if you want…

I absolutely agree with that, Ouchie. It would almost be irresponsible to not talk to his agent first. My point is that it is still in the hands of the teams. I guess it is two sides of the same coin, as the result might be the same, but factually it is still the teams that hold all the power...

    Laugh if you want…

Ouchie, that would be the other team's choice then. Murray still have nothing to say if both teams agreed to make the deal anyway. It is the other way around in that case - whereas the player has the choice if there is specifically a no-trade clause in his contract, the teams hold the power if...

    Laugh if you want…

That is still the other teams' decision, not Murrays. And he is so extremely talented that I am sure there are teams willing to bet that money can make him happen, so that they can have his talent for a number of years. Murray have no say in it, as long as the Cards don't give him a say. Which...

    Laugh if you want…

Russ, I don't want to single you out, as several posters have made the same assumption in this thread, but Murray don't have a say in which team he would go to. Or at least he doesn't need to have. The reason why some of the high-profile quarterbacks (Russell Wilson, Deshaun Watson) do is that...

    Gandhi mock draft

All draft classes are, Harry. :) Every year, analysts and fans annoint a number of players as "surefire prospects," and then the same players end up not producing in the NFL. "The surefire" draft class does not exist.

    Kyler trade proposal

Why is that a problem, Mike? We are taking about the Texans. Maybe the worst roster in the NFL. If they even get the chance to pay a quarterback a blank check, they should be thrilled. Keim is great at making trades (and have a fairly good history with the Texans). Get their two first from this...

    Gandhi mock draft

After some years off, I again took part in a mock draft this year, along with 31 others. Forgive me that I am repeating myself year after year, but obviously my rankings are made from the Cards’ perspective, and not the overall general rankings that media analyst makes for all teams together...

NFL Draft rumors until draft day

A month or two before the draft in 2016 many media analysts had Robert Nkemdiche in their top ten, but questions about his work ethic and snap-to-snap effort caused him to slide. That is the same that Thibodeaux is reportedly being questioned about. Make no mistake, it is absolutely possible...

    Free agency thread 2022

Send a pick for Bradberry. He is better and cheaper than any options in free agency (not named Gilmore). I honestly don't trust Keim to use those midround- or late picks anyway.

I believe you are right, Stout, but I would not be completely convinced of it. The NFL have changed. The general managers are more willing to make big transfers and take big risks. However, I would also do eveything possible to help Murray. He has the potential to be a superstar.

Well, I guess J.J. Watt could be Batman, but yes, you are right that he cannot be your primary edge rusher. I really wish they would bring back Reddick.

I don't know. He did play opposite Myles Garrett last season, so most of the attention was away from him. His best seasons has come with the Texans when he played opposite J.J. Watt, so maybe he is simply not good enough to be the primary edge rusher, but really good as the "other guy"?

Not that I want them to sign Clowney, but in all fairness, he did have a very good season pass rush-wise, with the Browns last year.

I am not so sure. Erik Burkhardt is the agent for both Kliff Kingsbury and Kyler Murray, yet just a few days before Kingsbury’s extension, Burkhardt wrote a clear threat to the Cards about Murray. That doesn’t seem logical to me if everything is rosy.

Chopper, you are right. Kennard will almost certainly stay as he restructured his contract yesterday.

Officially, you are right that they don’t have a lot of cap space, but first, they can easily get it, no problem. And second, it is actually not because their cap situation is unhealthy, but because Keim has not brought in good enough talent – and that way used the salary cap money wrong. It...

Well, you could also say that without Chase they don’t even get to the Super Bowl. :) I guess my point just is that both position groups can help a quarterback tremendously, and I just feel more comfortable with the offensive line than the wide receivers.

Let’s see, Slanidrac. :) I certainly agree that it is most likely, but there is rarely smoke without a fire, and the NFL have changed to the point where there are more wheeling-and-dealing than just a few years ago. Latest prove being with the Russell Wilson trade. Again, I think you will be...

I fully agree. I also have hopes for Justin Murray, and in reality, Humphries is the one offensive lineman I am most worried about. He needs to step up big time. It is actually only a little more than four million they would save. I am not sure if I interpret you wrong, CFL, but the Cards...
