    10 thoughts - 2024 draft

Thank you so much, Goldfield! :D It is great to hear. The reason I write these columns is because other fans want to read them, so I really appreciate it.

To that point, CBS has a list of instant impact rookies (https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/ranking-nfls-top-10-instant-impact-rookies-for-2024-trey-benson-jc-latham-featured-but-wr-takes-top-spot/)

    10 thoughts - 2024 draft

Krang, I was a little busy when I answered yesterday, so there were a few points I did not get to comment on. I don’t know.I would be highly disappointed if they cut him after camp. If we go back just a few years, I can find several late round picked edge rushers that he made a difference as...

I hope you are right Outcent! Do you see him beat out Michael Carter easily?

It would make my blood pressure a lot better, CN. :D I am a little worried about the WR room.

    10 thoughts - 2024 draft

Yes, I agree. Not that he was one of my guys (great call on you), but I thought he was the right type. Having said that, I was bummed that they didn't take McKinstry, who I think would be a fantastic fit, but I am excited to see what Melton can do. I have high hopes. Yes, that was why I...

I guess Ossenfort doesn't expect that either.

    10 thoughts - 2024 draft

1 - I kind of understand if people think I am overly optimistic when evaluating the draft class, but I think it makes the most sense to look constructive at it. Why not? I cannot change the outcome anyway, so I might as well try to look at it positively and see the added players as resources...

What needs remain in Free Agency and what can we afford?

Edge rushers Emmanuel Ogbah and Carl Lawson would be wonderful fits (especially if Lawson can stay healthy for once).

Tak! Det er en fornøjelse - især når andre sætter pris på det. Sorry for the language confusion for everyone else. :)

    Something I heard and loved

I think I once read that Bidwill does it (or at least used to) because of his past as a prosecutor. The idea is that he can kind of detect if a player is lying about something. My own guess is that he does it because he is a plain fan with inside access.

    So... 2024 UDFAs?

This guy was on my Cards board. Excited that they got him. Showed flashes of dominance at the East-West Shrine Game, and certainly another good fit.

    So... 2024 UDFAs?

DT Fabien Lovett, Florida State NT Evan Anderson, Florida Atlantic DT Keith Randolph, Illinois EDGE Gabriel Murphy, UCLA EDGE Braiden McGregor, Michigan Bring them all in, and see what happens at a tryout.

You are entitled to your opinion.

10 thoughts - day two and day three

Sure. If he can avoid injuries, and have some stability, he can easily become a lot better than ever at Clemson.

10 thoughts - day two and day three

To be fair, Ouchie, that is not so much about evaluation, but more that Kamara probably cannot get much better than now. He is small, has short arms, and have done his work against inferior opponents. The great play tape and production is there, but the draft is obviously a lot about projection...

2024 5th round pick #138 is Xavier Thomas Edge

Great pick. I have had reservations because of health and t-rex arms, but his speed and athleticism can cause a lot of problems for opponents. I am a big fan of this pick.

It was certainly not a critic about Kiper and Jeremiah. I think they do a great job. It is just that they need to put together a board that, at least in theory, cover all 32 teams. That is obviously impossible, and that is a big reason for fans' wrong judgements.

Who are your Day 3 Draft targets?

Baker is #35 on my Cards board. Washington is #39. I tend to think that Washington is the better fit after drafting Harrison.

10 thoughts - day two and day three

Thank you for telling me, OC! You and other like you are the reason it is more than worth to do these posts. Yeah, I am completely with you. Franklin is not as big a talent as the pundits claimed months ago, but he is also not as bad as much longer than start day three. Thus, I think he would...

That is also my thoughts, Cardpa. I am basically by default against drafting runningbacks high, but I get it.

10 thoughts - day two and day three

1 - Every year I find it fascinating, and kind of ignorant (I guess the difference can be thin), how many fans judge a pick by what Daniel Jeremiah’s and Mel Kiper’s general boards say about the player. I will probably never understand that way of evaluating. Be honest – how many of you have...

2024 2nd round pick #43 is Max Melton CB

That's like the biggest compliment a CB can ever get.

10 thoughts - round one and day two.

You can be sure that he has been in first round consideration for several teams, GAZ. The thing about him is that he can produce right away, but still have a lot of untapped potential.

    Cardinals pick at #35

There are rumors that he played injured all year. At least he have had a foot injury through all the pre-draft process - which made it very impressive that he still ran a 40 at his Pro Day. And if he is picked early on day two, it is not that other CBs have leapfrogged him that much, with...
