    Gandhi mock draft

I agree. It would also be a bit strange to sent Rondale Moore away and not resign Hollywood Brown if they wanted those types. Sure, it could just be that they did not think they were talented enough, but I am leaning to that they want size. Ja, det var dig, der anbefalede det. :) Og tak for...

    Gandhi mock draft

That is an interesting point, Garth. They should obviously not be affected by that, but if they take Nabers over Harrison, and it goes wrong, then they will look like fools, and I don't think it is impossible that a gamble like that could cost them the job. After all, Michael Bidwill is...

    Gandhi mock draft

You said it, Bach. "Most" boards. I think it is about fit, and how they want the player to fit. It is certainly reasonable to think that they want the slot, yards-after-catch, speedster to their Shanahan-style offense, but I personally am leaning more to the two bigger targets for the deep...

Doubtful that they see them equal. I have Nabers as #7 on the Cards boards, so very good, and potentially a solution, but clearly a worse fit than the two other.

Unless he gets taken before, I will. In that case I would be more than satisfied with Odunze.

    Gandhi mock draft

For many years I have participated in a GM mock draft at a Danish platform. All 32 participants control their own team, and I obviously choose the Cardinals. Because I have 11 picks this year, I decided to write posts about each pick in this thread, and then update the original post as the game...

CBS Projects Vikes Trade Up Costs Including W/Cards

Not that it matter much in this regard, Cardiac, but the Titans got a new general manager right after Ossenfort signed with the Cardinals, and Carthon has changed the entire front office (kind of like Ossenfort has here), so I don't know how great of a relationship he actually have with them...

Cardinals' Free Agency Day One grade

Isaiah Wynn, Jonah Williams, Connor Williams, Dalton Risner, Andrus Peat. All five are solid players. Though, it is an obvious risk that they might be overpaid by someone else. And just to make it clear, I am not saying that I necessarily wish they would sign them. Just that upgrades are out there.

Cardinals' Free Agency Day One grade

Gannon had success in Philly because of a deep rotation on the defensive line. This does nothing to rule out a DT early in the draft, but it does improve the chance of defensive success.

The funding rule was put in place exactly to avoid that, and in a way that is also why it is kept in the text.

"This is why Kyler Murray's recent extension with the Cardinals contains a reported $70M less in total guarantees than the (Deshaun) Watson deal: "For Watson," Mike Florio writes, "Browns owner Jimmy Haslam must deposit $169M into an escrow account by March 31, 2023. ... (That's) quite possibly...

I think the misunderstanding is because you are focusing on the exact definition in the dictionary, while I care more about what it actually means. It is not very reader-friendly to read, so I left it out of the original post, but okay, I can explain it a little. A soft cap means that teams can...

Yes, it is. It is complicated stuff. No worries. I think the issue is in the understanding of what a hard cap is, added with the possibility of using cash over cap to spread out signing bonuses, and what that actually makes the cap into. It's fair to be confused.

You are absolutely right, Krang, and I think it is a much overlooked aspect. That was why I mentioned it in the original post, because it is very important. I don't think that Michael Bidwill can easily throw around with major checks like other owners can, and thus, I think other teams have an...

https://www.si.com/nfl/2021/03/02/business-of-football-understanding-the-salary-cap-dead-money Andrew Brandt was vice president for the Packers for nine years where he, among other things, negotiatied all player contracts and handled all salary cap-things. Since then he has been an alalyst-...

It has not been a soft cap for that long, Oaken, but the most important is how you use your money.

I don’t know, Cardiac. They had structured the contracts in a way so that it affected their salary cap to the point where they were over the allowed number, and you cannot do that. You cannot break the rules – it is just easy to get around them. Yesterday I heard a longtime general manager say...

Well, it is obviously a fair point, but I guess it depends on how much you value a backup quarterback. Certainly in a situation where your starter is injury prone, having a good replacement can be the difference between success and failure longterm. But I would say that I have a lot of...
