    Caleb Williams Struggling

The Bears have actually never fired a coach in season. Their MO is draft a qb, fire the head coach, fire the GM, then the new HC drafts the QB, who is then fired, and a virtuous cycle forever and ever (Packers win 2 Super Bowls)

Yeah but they’re fun af. I’m enjoying my Nabors OROY and Kyler over bets.

Garrett Williams part of the trade as was our 2023 third round pick, which turned into Tyjae Spears. Youre making the trade sequence seem less balanced than it was.

Brock Bowers and Cade Otten might be better than him already. I'm fine with making him the highest-paid TE in the way we made Kyler the highest paid QB, but I'm not resetting the market for a very good player with a full year left on his rookie deal.

Jets are 21st in defensive DVOA. The Chargers may be a playoff team. Everyone else is below average.

He’s really good. But paying a really good player elite money because you drafted/acquired him is the ultimate Keim move.

They’re not going to lose him. He’s good and fun but he’s not irreplaceable. Cmon.

Okay. So McBride with zero pro bowls and no receiving TDs should not be hthe highest paid TE. We agree.

QB market is just different. Justin Jefferson reset the WR market and all he had to do was make the Pro Bowl his first three seasons, win OPOY, and lead the league in receiving. But Trey McBride, who has zero receiving TDs this season, should also reset the market at his position.

    Darius Robinson injured

Absolutely. Getting a field for how real starters handle your BS mizzou pass rush moves is worth the sunk cost of, like, Naquan Jones getting 150 extra snaps.

You’re going to bust the market for a TE who has zero all pro or pro bowl nominations? Okay. I guess.

    Kyler Murray Debate Thread

You can go look at the thread; I wasn't one of the people who said it was time to move on from Kyler Murray. But taking victory laps like this is toxic. No one here is unhappy about this three-game four-game win streak. But people like you are definitely doing everything they can to make this...

I don't think he's getting more than Travis Kelce, TJ Hockenson (who was a 2x Pro Bowler when he signed his extension) or George Kittle. The ceiling for TE contracts right now is a little over $17MM per year. When we were mid the pending free agents list for us wasn't that appetizing or...

He can't be extended until March but it's not hard to imagine that being the case. The good news is that even if he resets the scale at the TE position (and I don't think he can or should), the cap impacts are a fraction of what a top WR or LT or Edge or corner would be.

Even in a "debate" thread, this isn't really a helpful response.

Because we’re calling RB screens, and because teams don’t really blitz Kyler like that.

I don’t. I think it’s a combination of Kyler not being a rhythm passer and wanting to see guys come open that makes it difficult to get YAC on downfield passes.

    Kyler Murray Debate Thread

It would be very hard to win the award without getting meaningful national exposure while only leading the NFL in a fake stat like QBR. Is he more deserving than Lamar, Josh Allen, Goff, or Mahomes? He can be real good without being an MVP candidate.

I think the YAC issue has more to do with the QB than all his targets just being bad at running after the catch.

He’s a candidate in that he’s eligible for the award, but he’s not actually in the conversation among the top five or eight guys who will be mentioned.

If the conversation is “who’s having a good season but not in the running for MVP,” you are correct. He’s not close to Lamar, Josh Allen, or Patrick Mahomes (who is undefeated so far).
