Side note: I once found an old county map showing the land my high school is on was once owned by Baron von Stuben. How we were not called the Barons is beyond me!
I would be a hypocrite if I bagged on this trade. Is it the impact move I was looking for and that we need? No. Is he at least trading draft capital to try to improve the talent level? Yes. Hopefully the light goes on for this kid in the next 8 games.
I've only ever used it once, and that's for a poster that literally never posts except to antagonize. I never even ignored the (in)famous Tango! I would have missed the loving deer photo and the Ode to Jake if I had him on ignore :D
Not even close!
I agree with all the positive vibes from this win. Rallis actually blitzed a lot, their OL was banged up with players out, and their QB sucked. The defense is definitely nowhere near this good. Let's hope Monti doesn't fall into the trap.
I think I'm hoping Monti doesn't look at Xavier Thomas as the answer, because he isn't. He had a nice game, feasting on a bad OL missing players, because Rallis finally blitzed a lot, and, yes, because of his own graft. It's one game. You don't base your entire team strategy at a position devoid...
Can we have more of these boring games? Like, "C'mon, we're just going to run for huge chunks of yards again, how unexciting," kind of games, where we feel entitled to win, not just happy for the chance to win? Sign me up.
To dumb it down for you, Allen was clutch in the playoff loss to KC once, because he won the game, then his team's special teams and defense promptly lost it in a handful of seconds. Didn't make Allen less clutch. Basic enough for you to understand?
What am I doing? I'm feeding the...unserious...
I sure hope Monti doesn't think like this. The idea that you need a player to be picture perfect and zero risk before you would pull a trigger to get them is devoid of reality. That's exactly how you never get a good enough roster to compete. That's how you never sign a big FA and never trade...
As K9 said a few days, we now have a ton of young players and a bunch of extra 4th-7th rounders are diminishing in value for us. Monti would be a moron not to considering using them to improve the actual talent on this roster with the team sitting at .500 instead of hoarding magic beans that may...
By playing lights out and well enough to win the game but being let down by other parts of the team. Pretty obvious. Playing conservative and risk-averse in certain losses is the opposite of clutch.
