I'm no fan of Ross, but both Wolfley and Green said that the backs missed their assignments on that play. Ross was not the culprit that time, as for once he was in position. If memory serves me correctly, that was Femi's assignment.
That play was discussed quite a bit on this board.
Good write up, Mitch.
As it stands, I think the Cards will "reach' and take Levi Brown at 5 if Thomas is unavailable. You know, I like the two DEs and Branch, but LT is an immediate need.
Your trade scenerio works fine, though.
As a South Carolian Gamecoks fan, I've seen a lot of Adams. Clemson is our rival after all. That said, I am absolutely convinced that anyone who is down on Adams simply hasn't watched him play much.
He's got a knack for big plays, is better than advertised against the run, and can play both...
He's a rare talent.
Unless his stock magically falls I could easily see him go #1.
I can see it now. The Raiders trade one of their problem child wide receivers to Miami for Daunte and draft CJ.
It could happen.
That's it in a nutshell. Without big bodies to keep blockers off of Urlacher they become suspect in the running game. You saw that last night when the olinemen got their mits on him. Remember when the Cards played the Bears in the preseason a few years ago? James Hodgins owned Urlacher that...
Overall, this is pretty good.
Two key places where we part company:
1) I don't think Joe Thomas will go at number two. He may be the best tackle in this draft, but I don't think he's a number two pick. Brady Quinn is, and may still yet go number one.
2) Jamal Reynolds is a sexy pick...
You should have been here to see all of the fans tailgating. It was a sight to behold.
For what it's worth, despite the record, this was my favorite season yet. A stadium to call our own, my five year old son in tow, I had a great time.
There is good Italian here, you just need to know where to look.
For what it's worth though, when in AZ you should seek out some good Senoran seafood or the more authentic Mexican. For what it's worth, as good as Italian Beefs are, give me good Torta anyday. If you're ever in town run by...
You're being charitabe, that glop of cheese with sauce and bread that they call pizza sure ain't pizza. Give me good NY or even woodfired gourmet over that crap anyday.
Italian beefs and Chicago hotdogs rule though.
Go Colts!
