    I suppose I was referring to recent history. Elton Brown and your guard/center hybrids? Of course what your pont reveals, is how rarely they actually draft olineman. What are your thoughts about the crux of my argument, that the cards should focus on taaking tackles late as opposed to guards?

    Yeah, I think it is a bit high too. But I think it would make sense to reach to take him. The kid has good power, doesn't have the mobility you hope for in an NFL tackle, but he would be a good guard in a power blocking scheme (Grimm-blocking).

    I like taking two tackles. It occurs to me that the Cards have a tendency to draft too many guards. A second tier college tackle often translates to a decent/good pro guard. Sometimes they surprise and work out as tackles too.

    He does, however, ave a sickening penchant for overemphasizing baseball. It seems that on the day the Cards signed James he spent more time talking about the Pittsburgh Pirates. I kid you not. If the Yanks were playing the Bo Sox this week, he'd spend more time on that than the draft.

    Oh, Mr. Bordow. Barry Sanders had his best year in '97 and he was running behind a fullback then. Also, in '98 he had a stupendous year running behind a fullback (per Bobby Ross's design). Way to disprove your own point there, Scott.

    Agreed, Wells filled in well when asked to play LT in the past. Also, Deuce is good Guard, but he doesn't have the feet to play tackle at this level.
