    2024 Free Agency thread

Puka was "killing it" with heavy volume from a top QB. His target share was insane. He had 70 targets in those first six weeks. It lulled in mid-season when Kupp came back, and stepped up. But feeding a player targets can be misleading. Separately, I agree.

Not top-5, but Miami moved up for Jaylen Waddle at #6 in 2021. Prior to that, the Bills moved up to #4 for Sammy Watkins in 2014. It's not entirely unheard of, but in a strong WR draft, probably not the most likely thing. But with a premiere, labeled "generational" talent there? Maybe. I'm...

    2024 Free Agency thread

Ah, no worries. Yeah, I'm a little worried now. Nabers and Odunze aren't terrible consolation prizes, but I'm just going to feel icky if the Chargers move up or the Patriots decide to go WR. Or if we decide we're going to move back and pick up a "haul" that ends with WR#1 Brian Thomas Jr.

Why would you hope for this? It'd be just like us to get sniped by another team coming up for MHJ because everyone knows we're not taking a QB.

I'd have rather had Howell than Ridder, but not for the price. Sensible move for the Seahawks if Geno struggles or ages out.

Desmond Ridder - update - signed by the Raiders off of our practice squad

Totally fair trade. Out of nowhere. Bye Rondale, you never got a single start on my dynasty fantasy roster.

    Jonah Williams Welcome To AZ

I wouldn't be entirely against taking a tackle around those picks and moving them to G for a year or two with a long term plan in mind.

    Jonah Williams Welcome To AZ

Well, I'm happy enough with it. I'm less inclined to think we'll panic at #4 and take Joe Alt now.

    Cardinals release DJ Humphries

Thanks for everything, DJ. I just hope we don't panic and start looking to replace him at #4.

Good for him for getting his bag at his age after still being on a rookie deal, but yikes. Also a little worried about what this means for MHJ with us since the Pats were apparently pursuing him hard.

So is this it? We are not going to do anything to help this awful offense?

I was just thinking something similar. I wonder how much more is left, I wonder where our cap number is. But it's also important to remember, Free Agency hasn't even officially started yet. There's still some talent left out there. Most of the big news guys are done, but we'll see.

DeeJay Dallas welcome to the desert

I'm fine with it. I still would like to see a player brought in to assist when Conner is hurt/runs out of steam, which is often/soon, respectively. More like a "toss a 3rd rounder at Trey Benson or Blake Corum if they fall in the 3rd" concept though, not anything in free agency.

    Cards Sign ILB Mack Wilson

    I just got a notification he re-signed on a 1-year deal.

    Cards Sign ILB Mack Wilson

Off-ball linebacker, no shock... but whatever. If it means we can stop drafting there over and over again for a bit, I'd be happy.

Source? I don't see this on Google, Twitter (X), or any other site.

    2024 Draft Countdown/NFL Prospects thread

Levis isn't QB #8 in this class, IMO. I'd put him tied at #5. (I personally have Penix ahead of JJ McCarthy and Bo Nix, and don't think Levis is distinctly better or worse than McCarthy.) Don't get me wrong here, I don't think Levis is great, if I were a Titans fan I'd be relatively concerned...

    2024 Draft Countdown/NFL Prospects thread

I find it short sighted to move on from the 4th QB taken in last year's draft to take... the 4th QB in the draft, likely one with similar traits. Or to overpay to take the 2nd or 3rd QB in the draft, something that in recent history has proven to be a waste of assets. I'm not sure why you're...

    2024 Draft Countdown/NFL Prospects thread

Levis just last year, Willis the year before that... at least Levis had a legitimately great game last year where he threw for over 400 yards. Might just have to give the young guy a chance. It's hard to keep running it back with new picks and only giving them half a season to play before...

Future of Hollywood Brown as a Cardinal

I'm pretty much 50/50 on whether it's here or somewhere else (I ended up voting elsewhere), but I see a one year deal trying to prove himself. We need a #2 for now, I don't think Michael Wilson is that guy just yet. There's not a lot out there at wide receiver, so while it's not exactly ideal...

    Possible trade with Giants

If MHJ is there, no. If he's not... I guess. But I would assume you could get a lot more if a team was trying to move up for the last remaining top QB. Like, at that point, why not make the trade with Atlanta and ask for next year's #1 and one of their 3rd rounders this year? (They own 74 & 79.)

Trade speculation: Justin Jefferson to Arizona Cardinals

Well, let me reassure you that I'm not missing that point. Justin Jefferson has been flatly amazing. He's young, and would have an adequate QB here, to continue hopefully putting up similar numbers. But yes, I agree with the second part of your discussion. If JJ came available for a couple of...

Trade speculation: Justin Jefferson to Arizona Cardinals

No, you build through the draft and supplement with free agency. This team has been playing with a bare cupboard and a dearth of cheap young talent for at least half a decade now. We have done absolutely nothing to build a sustained core that can win. Keim hamstrung us with awful deals on old...

Trade speculation: Justin Jefferson to Arizona Cardinals

He can be those things while simultaneously being too expensive to acquire sensibly. Especially given the opportunity cost between him and a guy like MHJ or Nabers.

Trade speculation: Justin Jefferson to Arizona Cardinals

And @Chopper0080 to follow up, handing Justin Jefferson a big bag also prevents us from going out and adding "proven" NFL talent in free agency.
