So Sweat goes for a (high 2nd) to the Bears and Chase Young goes for a mid-rounder?
I know Young has had health issues, but isn't he the better player (I may be off base here)? Bears are incompetent.
Gambo is reporting that if Dobbs starts at least half of the Vikings remaining games then we get our 7th round pick back.
That must be what the conditions are (not turning into us giving a 6 - that makes no sense)
Guess it's just interesting a lot of the people who want to dump Hollywood are the same ones that were irate that we let people of the Byron Murphy / Zach Allen caliber go. Same level of player in my book.
Are we scoffing at 65 yards/game or an 1100-yard season?
Maybe that doesn't fit as making an actual difference maker in your book, but since the league went to 17 games (2020) there's been an average of 21 players getting 65 yards/game (regardless of games played) and an average of 14 players...
This guy is looking great to me. I know it’s early but hopefully his scheme work continues. Turning Dobbs into a top 10 QB is amazing. Excited to see Kyler work within these confines.
So seems like Daley, Williams and Sanders coming back? When a player comes back from IR and starts their 'practice time' do they count on the 53 immediately?
He has the 13th-highest cap hit in the league for kickers. If we went bottom of the barrel (and signed a K for about $750k) I still doubt we'd use those savings, plus the rest of our cap, to get an 'upper-tier FA'.
Only 15 players had over 1100 receiving yards last year (16 in 2021). I think that's a pretty high standard to be considered 'average'.
1300 for elite makes sense. Last year there were 8 that hit that total (6 in 2021).
I've watched some Florida State games and Keon Coleman has looked really good as well. Although I'm always a bit dubious of the 'Big, Athletic, Contested Catch' college WRs. Doesn't always seem to transfer over as well to the NFL.
The editing they did on the video does him no favors as well. JG says something, "ok now lets show a 1-2 second clip of Budda with a blank stare on his face". Another JG quip. "OK now over to Conner looking confused. Perfect!"
I don't have the stats to back this up but I feel Conner is such a better runner with the QB under center, where he has a few steps to start getting downhill, than when running out of shotgun sets.
I'm not expecting this guy to turn into a WR#1 or anything, but if he can give us solid / reliable WR 2-3 production that would be a nice hole to fill moving forward.
Not expecting a win, or even to keep it a really tight game, just want to see us continue to play hard.
Looks like we're opening as about 14-point underdogs. Let's make Vegas eat that for the 4th time!
