    UNCENSORED 2024 Draft Thread

Yeah... apparently some Karens can't just stick to the non-spoiler thread, or refrain from reloading this thread for the last few minutes before the Cardinals' picks, so they complain to the managers....

    UNCENSORED 2024 Draft Thread

What are you talking about?! The Cardinals came into the draft with 11 picks and traded down only twice - 8 spots in the 2nd and 3 spots in the 3rd. Your post sounds as though they traded every pick for magic beans. Trading down 8 spots and 3 spots sounds EXACTLY like what a team should do if...

Melton was the 10th player and 2nd CB (behind Rakestraw) on the list the NFL Network showed of Daniel Jeremiah's next 10 best available players (46th overall on Jeremiah's list).

    Cardinals pick at #35

I started a new thread with Dane Brugler's Day Two Mock from the Athletic, but since there's so much speculation about Cooper DeJean and Cooper Beebe here, might as well post it here as well:

2024 NFL Draft Thread - Round 1 (no spoilers)

Now that another QB is off the board, the Jets must've convinced the Vikings that they had offers from the Broncos or Raiders to jump them!

2024 NFL Draft Thread - Round 1 (no spoilers)

At this rate, if the Vikings want McCarthy, they could get him just by staying put at #11. Looks as though so many of those pre-draft rumors and trade scenarios may have been little more than click bait!

It will be interesting to see whether the Chargers get a "haul" to trade down now.... Edit: Nope!

    OT: 2024 NFL Draft Rumors

Last-minute rumors and "potential surprises" from Diana Russini and Jacob Robinson at The Athletic this morning:

What is your definition of "haul"?

A team could use next year's excess draft capital to move up in the draft this year. It wouldn't be wise to limit potential trade partners only to (say) the Vikings because they're the only other team with multiple first round picks.

    OT: 2024 NFL Draft Rumors

Why would a team ever be stupid enough to "assure" a player that he will be the pick if available at their spot? If rumors are true (or is it an actual quote?) that Arians told Mahomes he'd be the Cards' pick, that's the reason the Chiefs traded ahead of the Cards to get him. If this rumor is...

Execs, coaches rank NFL draft’s top WRs

Wow - one day later, The Athletic writes that a (presumably different!) group of "Coaches pick Nabers over Harrison" and Odunze! Plenty of good new quotes, worth skirting the limits of acceptable use: Quotes from four coaches and a scout: There were lots more quotes from these coaches and...

Today the Athletic had eight NFL execs and coaches rank the top 3 WR prospects in the draft: WR points (3, 2, 1) first place votes Marvin Harrison Jr. 20 4 Malik Nabers 15 2 Rome Odunze 13 2 Here are some excerpts from the commentary. Probably nothing we haven't all read before, but...

    Austin Mock's Mock

Yes...

    Redrafting the 2023 NFL Draft

Good catch. Edited to say no "draft day trades" - but pre-draft trades were left intact.

Draft - one week out - what do the Cardinals do with #4?

I get what you're saying, but the thing is that the draft just isn't that exact of a science. MHJ may not end up being the best WR in the draft - he might have the highest chance in most people's evaluations, but it might end up being Odunze, Nabers, or someone else. That tiny incremental...

    Redrafting the 2023 NFL Draft

The Athletic had an article today on "Redrafting the 2023 NFL Draft". They didn't employ draft-day trades, so here's how they figured it would've gone down, knowing how each player has turned out so far as a pro. I included some of their explanations when I found them interesting or non-obvious:

Draft - one week out - what do the Cardinals do with #4?

Easy - the Cards simply need to convince other teams that they're happy to trade back with the Giants and take Odunze. Then (if the Giants are even interested in trading up for a QB) they need to convince the Giants that they're willing to trade back even farther and take Nabers, or Alt plus a...

Week 15 of the Arizona Cardinals off season. 04/15/24-04/21/24

Oh! I thought most forum members' preferences were to either stay at 4 and pick MHJ, or trade down no lower than 6 to ensure getting one of the top two WRs. In which case, trying to spread the narrative about what is, in fact, your actual intention makes no sense! In this scenario you'd want to...
