    Some thoughts on the defense

Maybe the "green dot" was too heavy for him. He looked like he was dragging a 50 lb. weight out there. Man that was a rough outing for him.

    On the bright side

I actually was encouraged by Zaven Collins' play. For his first real game experience he wasn't half bad and I thought he was going to be an utter disaster like Simmons was. I'm not saying Collins was stellar, but he made a lot of plays. He did get lost in coverage a few times, but this is not...

    Isabella

If they feel that Golden is good to go, they might not elevate Kennard. This would allow them to bring up a cornerback(Whitaker) and a receiver(Bolden), our two thinnest roster positions at this time.

Kansas City Chiefs @ Arizona Cardinals Pregame Thread. 9/2/22-9/10/22

Byron Murphy did not practice Friday due to illness. This is beyond belief. We're cursed. I'm marking us down for a W. It's the most unexpected thing, so I'll go with it.

Kansas City Chiefs @ Arizona Cardinals Pregame Thread. 9/2/22-9/10/22

Wow...what an offseason. Dropped frying pans and kettle bell injuries. Only can happen to Cardinals. Probably never happen again to any other team.

Missing Watt, Ertz, Golden and Mullen

Watt, Ertz, Golden and Mullen not at practice today. Hope this doesn't mean they will miss the game on Sunday. With our shallow defensive roster we can't afford to lose Watt and Mullen.

    Jalen Thompson extended

Agree with Chopper that signing Allen will cost less than Murphy and also think he's vastly underrated on this board. He played last season with an ankle injury that was so bad that he said it was basically held together with tape because his ligaments were torn. I'm expecting a big season out...

    The New Corners

We still don't know anything about Antonio Hamilton's injury, but it could cost him more than the first game. If he's out any length of time our corners are Murphy, Wilson, Mullen, and Guidry; and that's probably significantly worse than last year.

    Cardinals Claim CB Javelin Guidry

We still may plan on adding Alford after week one. This guy could be worst case fill-in for week one in the event of injuries. I think you may see some people come and go in our secondary as we sort things out early in the season. Not an ideal situation.

We Traded For a CB - Trayvon Mullen

I don't think we will be signing any other cornerbacks until after week one, when we sign Alford in all likelihood. The probability of getting a player with our 23rd waiver claim position is slim to none. With Alford's injury history it makes sense to wait until after week one to sign him, so...

Simmons Will Wear the Green Dot

Like others have said, Simmons calling the signals is some of the best news of the off-season. It is clear evidence that the coaching staff believes that he has arrived as a player and will be on the field 100% of the time. I've heard reports that he has looked good in practice, but this...

Judge This Team By What We Put On The Field In September

I do have some hope for our front seven, but admittedly it's a bit of a stretch to think they will be an above average group. We've got a couple of D-lineman in Rashard Lawrence and Zach Allen that have shown some potential, and some linebackers in Gardeck, Demukege, and Simmons that have also...

    Season Prediction

I say 9 and 8, or 10 and 7. I expect the offense to be top 10, and the defense to be middle of the pack. Of course I have concerns at cornerback until we make some moves, and Hopkins suspension will hamper us for the first third of the season.

Final Cuts - Across the NFL

The defense wasn't atrocious last year and I don't think it will be this year. Hopefully, a few of the young players will improve, such as Lawrence, Allen, Demukege, and Simmons. Also, with Watt returning from injury and Gardeck two years removed from surgery, hoprfully we'll see some...

Final Cuts - Across the NFL

I'm not saying that our pass defense will be good when the season starts, but to judge it from a preseason when we didn't play Budda Baker, Jalen Thompson, Byron Murphy, or Simmons is short sighted to say the least. Unfortunately, we're all gonna have to wait for the regular season to see what...

Arizona Cardinals’ 53-man roster prediction ahead of final cuts

I think Wooten makes the 53 at inside linebacker and either Banjo or Deonte Thompson get axed. Also think they keep Manny Jones or Ledbetter over Dogbe.

17.7 million left to spend....what do you hope the Cardinals do with the remaining monies?

Maybe you remember the cornerback Rasul Douglas? He played for 6 teams in 4 years and now sees playing time for the Green Bay Packers. Not often, but it does happen once in while. Philadelphia 2017 Carolina 2020 Las Vegas, Houston, Arizona, Green Bay 2021

    Actually impressed by Andy Isabella

I don't think they will keep Isabella. With Hopkins out for the first six weeks I believe will go with either Wesley or Marcel Ateman for their size, along with Dortch and Boldin.

    Actually impressed by Andy Isabella

I think we might even keep Bolden over Isabella. I've just never been impressed and think this is the year he gets cut.

    Good News/Bad News

The Cardinals are in a world of hurt at cornerback. If they start Marco Wilson teams will feast on him. I wouldn't be surprised if our two starting cornerbacks are players that are made available at cut down or poached from someone's practice squad. That's just how bad it is.

    Mostly good, a little bad

Despite all the preseason hype, Eno could be the odd man out. I assume that Williams is on the roster and Keontay Ingram looked really good last night, so it's between Eno and Ward for the last roster spot. Ward is valued for his special team play, and he looked good at running back last...

    Victor dimukeje

I noticed him last year. He got a little playing time and looked pretty stout against the run. He has a nice combination of power with adequate speed.
